Ava usually comes home from school and plays in her room, where she and Teddi-Dude use their giant imaginations to explore world.
Ava loves to play spaceship in her colorful tent. Teddi and her always travel to different places, but this time she plans to visit the planets and the solar system.
Its when she uses her imagination, is when the adventure begins.
Before they take off, Ava always has a count down. Teddi usually doesn’t like this part.
“" Ready for lunchoff." Says Ava to Teddi Countdown....."5"....."4".......
.....”3”.....”2”.....
....."3!"....."2!!"....."1!!!"....
“....." BLASTOFF!!!!!"”
After launching into space safely, Ava and Teddi were ready to explore the nine planets.
Well, lets head to our 1st planet Teddi-dude. The one nearest to the sun, Mercury.
Neptune
My Spaceship
Mercury
Pluto
Venus
Earth (Home)
Uranus
Saturn
Sun
Jupiter Mars
The map of our solar system.
Mercury 1 Orbit of Sun: 1 Rotation: Mass: Volume: Distance from Sun: Maximum Temperature: Mininum: Diameter:
87.969 days 58.6461 days 5% of Earth 5% of Earth 36 million miles 870oF -300oF 3,030 miles
After landing on Mercury, Ava and Teddi place a flag for their visit.
Lets put it over here Teddi-Dude.” Ava said.
“"Okay Teddi-Dude lets blast off to the next planet. We have more planets visit."” Ava said.
Venus 1 Orbit of Sun: 1 Rotation: Mass: Volume: Distance from Sun: Average Temperature: Diameter:
“Ready to visit Venus Teddi-Dude? Asked Ava.
224.701 days 243.16 days 81% of Earth 86% of Earth 67 million miles 850oF 7,523 miles
Stick it in the ground over there Teddi-Dude. As Ava asked him to mark the planet with their flag. Well thats finished, lets keep moving Dude.
We don't have to visit Earth next, because thats home and we can just save it for last visit, oday Teddi-Dude.
Mars 1 Orbit of Sun: 1 Rotation: Mass: Volume: Distance from Sun: Maximum Temperature: Mininum: Diameter:
686.98 days 1 day and 37min 10% of Earth 15% of Earth 142 million miles 98oF -190oF 4,222 miles
Ava helps Teddi put the flag in the ground of Mars.
“Good thing our flag is blue and not red, like Mars. Because no one would ever see it, since Mars is red. Ava and Teddi take off to the next planet.
Jupiter 1 Orbit of Sun: 1 Rotation: Mass: Volume: Distance from Sun: Average Temperature: Diameter:
4332.59 days 9 hours 55min 317 times more than Earth 1318 time more than Earth
483 million miles -244oF 88,846 miles
Good thing we brought one big flag with us Teddi-Dude. Jupiter is the biggest planet of all of them. And our normal flag would be too small for this planet. Lets put it of over here.
Saturn 1 Orbit of Sun: 1 Rotation: Mass: Volume: Distance from Sun: Average Temperature: Diameter:
10,759.2 days 10 hours 13 min 95 times more than Earth 744 time more than Earth
888 million miles -300oF 74,898 miles
"Would you look at those rings Teddi-Dude? It is one of the coolest things about Sturn." Said Ava. "Saturn is known for it’s rings. Put the flag here, so it can se the rings too."
Only a few more planets to go besides Earth, which we'll see last. We also can't go visit the Sun of course, it's too hot and our flag would just melt and burn up. So we will just move on to Neptune.
Uranus 1 Orbit of Sun: 1 Rotation: Mass: Volume: Distance from Sun: Average Temperature: Diameter:
30,684 days 17.2 hours 14.6 times more than Earth 67 time more than Earth
1,784 million miles -300oF 31,763 miles
Our flag will really go well with Uranus, because of the planet's color being blue too.
Just two more to go Teddi-Dude , lets get a move on.
Neptune 1 Orbit of Sun: 1 Rotation: Mass: Volume: Distance from Sun: Average Temperature: Diameter:
60,190 days 16 hours 17 min 17 times more than Earth 57 time more than Earth
2,794 million miles -370oF 30,775 miles
Starting to get colder as the planets are further from the sun's heat rays. Neptune is cold, but not as cold and dark as the next planet. Lets put our flag facing the sun to try and keep it somewhat warm.
Last planet, before we head home okay dude.
Pluto 1 Orbit of Sun: 1 Rotation: Mass: Volume: Distance from Sun: Average Temperature: Diameter:
90,465 days 6 days 9 hours .02% of Earth 1% of Earth
3,647 million miles -390oF 1,485 miles
"Lets hurry up and put the flag somewhere, so we can go. How about right there Teddi-Dude? Yeah, that looks great, perfect." “ Said Ava. Lets head home now dude.
Earth (Home) 1 Orbit of Sun: 1 Rotation: Mass: Volume: Distance from Sun: Average Temperature: Diameter:
365.3 days 23 hours 56 min 6 septillion kilograms
1.097 sextillion cubic meters 93 millions miles 45 oF 7,926 miles
Well lets get home before mom wonders, where we have been at all day? After landing we can go get a snack okay.
Homebase we are approaching our landing area, and we are coming home. “
We did it Teddi-Dude,we visited all of the planets in our solar system. Another adventure completed. Lets go have a snack now.
After we are finished with our snack of galaxy milk and PB&J sandwiches, we can take a nap, okay Teddi-Dude.
...night, night.
Sun Distance from Earth: Average Temperature:
93 millions miles 10,000 oF
The Sun was born in a vast cloud of gas and dust around 5 billion years ago. Light from the Sun can reach the Earth in only 8 minutes! This is called the speed of light.
A very big special thanks to: All my friends and family for their support and I hope my son likes his book.
