Thank you for entering and we hope you enjoy the day.
It is a great pleasure to welcome you all, to the stunning setting of Bradstone Brook, for the annual SOCS RGS Guildford Under 16 Rugby Sevens Festival. This tournament has a long history of producing performances of the highest calibre and it is exciting to see so many outstanding schools joining us for the day.
I am most grateful to all those staff who have made today’s event possible, particularly the School’s Head of Rugby, Ben Dudley and the superb Grounds Team which is led so ably by Russell King.
Rugby Sevens has cemented itself on the world stage as both a Commonwealth and Olympic sport and the game epitomises athleticism as well as any other. We hope that all the players will relish playing in today’s competition and wish everyone, spectators included, a successful Sevens season.
