Updates and Achievements from Past Month Support and Guidance  Worked on making initial plans for the set up of an RGU Events Society to provide event guidance and support to societies and students. I worked to write the societies application form and event society constitution and was able to get the society established at RGU.  Worked with fellow executive committee members on planning key events. In August, I met with fellow exec members to make plans for Freshers week, and had brainstorming sessions for the event. We also had our first strategic planning meeting with the RGU:Union trustees, where we outlined plans for the future of the union.

Awareness and Communication  As part of my “What’s On RGU” project, this month, I worked to create a proposal to my fellow executive committee members for their approval of the project. The project was approved and I am now able to move forward with the plans.  Set up platforms for the “What’s On RGU” projects, including Facebook page, Twitter Account, and E-mail account, as well as designing a logo and producing initial advertising content.  Filmed and produced videos for RGU:TV, including Freshers Teaser Videos, tours of campus, and others.

Events and Entertainment  Working to plan and organise various Fresher’s Week events with executive committee and RGU:Union staff. This month we met to brainstorm ideas, and make plans for the schedule.  Supported the establishment of a partnership with Garage/Campus in Aberdeen as our official Fresher’s nightclub.
