Updates and Achievements from Past Month Union  Responding to student feedback with regards to Wifi provision in Kaim Cottage  Participated in various strategic planning days and workshops  Wrote a student media policy to outline details for insurance purposes  Attended meetings of the Finance Committee of the RGU:Union Trustee Board  Continued to write regular Wired articles for communicated with students  Worked on constitution and regulation changes for the introduction of a fourth sabbatical  Developed and reviewed the officers Code of Conduct  Wrote nominations for the appointment of student trustees  Continued to send regular e-mails with Purple Wednesdays videos  Attended and spoke at the successful launch event of the RGU:TV ‘Stay Safe’ video project  Visited hotels and venues for various events taking place in 2016  Provided a statement for students and press on the Donald Trump degree  Met with staff from IT to discuss technical improvements required for RGU:Radio  Held some initial meetings and discussions around Refreshers Week  Met with student editor of Radar magazine to discuss and develop media in the coming year  Supported a student to be able to come to RGU with particular funding restrictions  Attended and participated in meetings of the RGU:Union Trustee Board  Met with the RGU Business Society to support planning the RGU Business Ball  Hosted a ‘Student Forum’ with a combined remit from Your University, Your Aberdeen and Societies Forum to discuss student views  Met to discuss and make initial plans for Student Achievements Awards Ball

University  Met with RGU Communications Department to discuss improving/reducing e-mail traffic  Attended Catering meeting to provide student feedback  Involved in the working group producing the RGU ELIR Case Study, and involved in producing content and filming aspects  Lobbied RGU on the topic of microwaves looking for an extension to the hours for the microwave in the Sir Ian Wood Building.  Supported RGU Estates to collect responses for a survey on microwaves, two months earlier than originally planned  Attended the Faculty of Health and Social Care class representative meeting with the Dean  Promoted a competition with Alumni Relations to promote alumni posters  Attended and spoke at Graduation ceremonies to recognise the achievements of students  Attended meetings of the Academic Council to report on students views  Attended meetings of the Equality and Diversity Advisory Group  Met with staff from the International office to discuss supporting an ‘International Day’ event  Attended catering strategy group meeting to review the future of catering provision at RGU  Met with RGU:ResLife to discuss collaboration and plans for Refreshers  Met with students to discuss concerns, issues, complaints with the university  Discussed with DELTA the practicalities of using Campus Moodle to encourage election voting  Attended meetings of the RGU Board of Governors to share student views
