MONTHLY REPORT (Ref.001) NAME: Rachel Sanders ELECTED POST: RAG Chair DATE: 1.5.2014 Update and achievements from previous month • • • • • • • • •

Distribution of breast cancer stickers across campus showers, meeting with RGU:Sport permission granted to place stickers in female showers. Continued work with Iain Webster to have both male and female awareness stickers with student halls. Continuing to support challenge event team leaders and supporting students to reach their fundraising targets. Meeting with Childreach 19.3, discussion on how to potentially continue working next year. Bungee Jump held on 25th March, 45 students and staff bungee jumped raised over £3,700 for Aberlour as part of RAG Week 2014 Meeting with Vine Trust on 28.3, discussion over possible collaboration around challenge events and volunteering abroad. SAA Ball 28.3, RAG won award for continued excellence along with RGU:Gaming. Raised £200 with head and tails for Charlie House. Attended Torcher Parade Stakeholders meetings and promotion of Torcher Parade to students on campus. RAG End of Year Presentation held on 30th April, invited charities, supporters, university and union staff and officers to come and celebrate the years achievements and raising over £28,000 for charity. Submitted the RAG budget request for 2014/15 Met with Stevie (student volunteer and development coordinator) to discuss the workings of RAG next year RAG AGM, new committee elected for next academic year. Promotion of Aberdeen Cyrenians Food Drive at Sainsburys Berryden on 26th and 27th April

Personal objectives/Manifesto update Growing RAG Planning for the future; sponsorship, challenge partners etc. More Local Volunteering and Community Engagement Volunteering with Aberdeen Cyrenians in their food donation drive with Sainsbury’s Berryden. Torcher Parade volunteering as stewards as well as opportunity to get involved in building and parading with a float. International Challenges and Volunteering Met with Vine Trust; sadly could not attend Challenges Abroad meeting in Middlesex due to clash of events in the diary, however continued communication via email and phone. Meeting arranged with myself and incoming RAG Chair for with Childreach International. RAG Recognition 1 full page cover in the evening express and half page in the press and journal and 1 full page in nexus regarding the bungee jump. RAG won award for continued excellence for the 4th year in a row at the SAA Ball. Celebrated our end of year presentation with our charities and supporters. Continuing Relations with Charities and RAGs Continued communication with charities regarding future projects, met with charity representatives during the end of year presentation and introduction to incoming RAG chair.
