A Play in the Making by Joe Jackson
In 2014 Joe Jackson wrote, produced and presented on RTE Radio 1, two one-hour documentaries titled The Richard Harris Tapes Revisited. It was based on roughly 30 hours of tapes Jackson made with Harris, between the years 1987 to 2000, partly for an official biography the actor asked him to write, though the book never was written. The radio series was submitted by RTE in the Best Spoken Word category for a PPI award. “It didn’t win but I bet Harris would get a great laugh out of the idea that our sometimes heated exchanges were even in that category twelve years after his voice ostensibly was silenced by death!” jokes Jackson.
