Ahot and sweaty July for the Kellett Golf Society! First, on 7 July our monthly tournament at the beautiful scenic Kau Sai Chau East Course was won by our new young member Billy Tam. Then, in collaboration with the RHKYC 25A Family Fun Day on 17 July to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the HKSAR, KGS set up a golf pitching game on the water area in front of the Bistro where players were asked to target floating green 50 yards offshore using eco-friendly golf balls. So popular and addictive, many players came back and kept trying to hit the green. Last but not least, KGS held its very first golf tournament at the Hong Kong Golf Club end of July. 32 KGS members turned out, enjoying the historical and beautiful Old course. We made it the RHKYC Charity Foundation 10th Anniversary Charity Golf Day and raised over $10,000 for our beneficiaries. We also took this opportunity to give one more toast to the 25th Anniversary of the HKSAR. Jeff Chau won a Black KGS polo as Men’s champion and Joyce Kwong won the White KGS polo for being Women’s champion of the day. The black and white polos are designated for future champions exclusively. The KGS plans to have two games per month in 2023, so come join us when you are not sailing or rowing. If you are not yet a Member of KGS, download application form and join now from https://www.rhkyc.org.hk/clubfacilities/sports/golf !
