REVO ACU BRITISH MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP 2021 RESERVE RIDERS

F3

RESERVE RIDERS A Reserved Rider is a rider who is eligible to take the place of any Registered Rider who has not entered/cannot participate in a race. The Reserve Rider Registration Fee is non-refundable, once paid, even if the rider has not ridden all year within the Championship. Reserved Riders are not guaranteed an opportunity to participate in the Race/Series. Each class will have up to a maximum of 5 paid reserve riders. These riders will be notified in order of priority immediately after the Early Bird entry fee deadline, of any spaces that become available within the Series, in line with the Reserve Rider release date. If a Reserved space becomes available with the Series, a Reserve Rider will automatically be converted to a Registered Rider within the Series. A Rider who wishes to be classified as a Reserve, must pay the annual registration fee. Reserve riders on registering for the Championship will be allocated a First Reserve, Second Reserve etc., up to five places. They will be eligible for any sponsor/RHL related loyalty packages, as per Registered Riders, however they are not guaranteed a ride. Reserved rider can enter a round of the Championship at any time, however a place will not be allocated to them for a particular round, until the Reserve Rider Release date, which is the same as the Wildcard Release Date. Reserve Riders will have priority over Wildcard Entries. Please refer to R4 for Release Dates. During the year, if a Rider withdraws from the Championship and there is a Reserved Rider within that class they will automatically be converted to a Registered Rider and will then be subject to the Championship/RHL Terms and Conditions of Registration. A Reserve Rider who turns up at a Race meeting may be allowed to race, if a space becomes available. The decision to admit one or more Reserve Riders to a race will be made when the first rider enters the Start Gate Area and the Waiting Zone is closed. At that time if a space is available the Reserve Rider may race, if not the Reserve Rider must leave the Waiting Zone immediately. A Reserve rider will accumulate points for any race meeting they are able to participate in, within the Championship. A Reserve Rider who was not allowed to start in the first race can do so in the Second or Third block of racing if a space becomes available, providing the Rider presents themselves in the Waiting Zone at the stipulated time. A Reserve Rider who took part in any of the first block of racing is not guaranteed a space in the second or third, if all the Registered Riders are in the Waiting Zone. All Reserve Riders who turn up at a Race meeting, without a Guaranteed Space will participate in the Free Practice session and Time Practice Session, along with the Registered Riders and the guaranteed Reserve Spaces already allocated prior to the Race meeting. If no space is available at the time of notification a Reserve Rider entry can either opt to have their money back straight away, or wait to see if a space becomes available nearer the date/over the course of the weekend. If no space available, monies will be refunded on the Tuesday after the event.

EXCESSIVE NOISE Should a machine become excessively noisy during a practice or racing session in the opinion of the Clerk of the Course, a board displaying “Noise” together with the offender’s number shall be shown to the rider in question at an appropriate place on the circuit. Once passing the board the rider has two laps in which to enter the work area and effect repairs. i.e. the rider may only pass the board on two occasions. If the rider fails to enter the work area during that time they will be shown the Black Flag and disqualified from the race in question. Under these circumstances no Sound Test shall be undertaken. In either instance, if there are not enough laps left in the session or race for the above scenario to take place, the rider will still be shown the board whereby he is advised to effect a repair. However, if he fails to do this, the machine will automatically be sound tested at the end of the session or race.

EXCESSIVE NOISE – AFTER A RACE Any rider whose machine is above the limit as listed in the 2021 ACU Handbook for MX – whether it be one of the riders chosen at random or any other rider whose motorcycle is controlled/verified – may be penalised.

ENGINE TESTING This may be carried out during the meeting at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course Any rider refusing to have an engine measured or failing the sound test will result in a penalty.

REVO ACU BRITISH MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP 2021 ENVIRONMENTAL – RIDE GREEN

E1

WORK WITH US For a few days each week during the racing season, agricultural land and private venues play host to the ACU British Championship Series. RHL Activities Ltd and the Organisers bring in infrastructure to ensure the safety of its riders and spectators and all those involved within their event. For the sport of motocross to be sustainable, we all have a duty to make sure the land on which it is hosted is looked after to the best of our ability. The land that we often race on is agricultural land and if we as a group do not look after this land, it could bery well be taken from us. The use of Chemicals and plastics can be harmful to the animals and the natural environment we visit and we are asking all those who attend the championship venues to play a part in protecting these venues and their natural habitat Reducing the impact on the general environment is a huge task and it is one RHL is devoted to working to whilst they visit these venues to limit the impact to the best of its ability. To do this, we adopt the policies set out in Pages E2 – E3 and ask you engage in working with us in delivering these. Some things to consider:

WATER DISPENSERS Please bring a reusable water bottle. These can be filled for free at our water stations which we will bring with us to every event. By RHL exchanging 18ltr bottles of water to use with these Water Stations, instead of the small 500ml plastic bottles, RHL calculates it can reduce its plastic footprint by 31,634 bottles at only ten events.

WATER – Plumbed Please use water responsibly. Turn off taps and help us use water efficiently

DOGS Whilst dogs are allowed at these venues, they must be kept on leads at all times. Under United Kingdom Law, farmers are allowed to destroy any dog found to attacking farm animals. You are asked to ensure you clean all dog mess up and dispose of in appropriate waste units.  

All dogs must be secured on a lead at all times, without exception Riders will be notified in advance if Dogs are not allowed by the Race Venue.

Please ensure all dog mess this is cleaned up and disposed of correctly. Dog mess left on the ground could be potentially fatal to both local wildlife, cattle and persons with open wounds who come in to contact with it.

NOISE POLLUTION -SILENCE IN THE VENUE WILL BE CALLED UPON AT 23.00PM   

All Generators must be turned off, and all noise levels dropped to respect the other campers Race Engines must not be started outside of Venue Restricted Times These may vary dependent upon individual landowner terms and conditions.

REVO ACU BRITISH MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP 2021 ENVIRONMENTAL MATS AND TEAR OFFS

E2

ENVIRONMENTAL MATS Where refuelling or servicing of a machine is being undertaken, riders are asked to provide and use an environmental mat to protect the ground. These mats are to be removed by the Riders after use. The minimum dimensions of the mat will be at least equal to the length of the motorcycle and the width of the handlebars Riders are asked to provide spill mats, whilst working on their machines within the Rider Paddock.

TEAR OFFS Riders are asked to not use Tear Off lenses on goggles, due to the Environmental Impact these have. The nature of the tracks that are visited, means that some venues may have livestock on the site outside of the venue being used as a Race Track. Tear Off’s are harmful to these animals and certain venues already operate a total ban of Tear Off lenses. Any rider that choses the use tear offs will automatically be banned from the RHL Environmental Award The use of biodegradable Tear Off lenses is allowable. Further details can be found for each venue in sections V1 – V10. In 2022 RHL will completely ban the use of Tear Offs.

REVO ACU BRITISH MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP 2021 ENVIRONMENTAL – WASTE AND BIKE WASHING

E3

TOILETS Please use the toilets provided, urinating on the land or in the bushes contaminates the local environment, its wildlife and species and could compromise the future of the venue.

CHEMICAL WASTE Please use the designated chemical waste unit provided. Disposing of chemical waste urinating on the land or the bushes contaminates the local environment, its wildlife and species and could compromise the future of the venue.

WASTE UNITS Please use the Waste Units provided. It is not okay to drop litter on the ground. Help us by placing your waste into the correct bins. Think about taking any waste you can put in your own home recycling units away with you. Please only use what you need. If every event-goer used four napkins instead of one, there would be an extra 19,200 napkins wasted unnecessarily

CONTAMINATED WASTE Oil and Tyres are classified as contaminated waste and the incorrect disposal of these can result in massive fines for both the owner of the Venue, RHL and the person who illegally dumps these items. The fines commence from £10,000 upwards and can lead to criminal prosecution and incarceration. Tyres we ask you take these home with you and take them to your local Waste Depot, along with any Waste Oils. Any person found to be disposing of Tyres or Oil in the General Waste Units, on the ground or in the bushes, face being automatically excluded from their Championship.

BIKE WASH – BIODEGRADEABLE Only water should be used when washing your bikes on Green Field areas and agricultural ground. Always use the designated Wash Bays where the venues have these.
