Hello and welcome to round 4 of the 2016 Thor British Youth Nationals. After an action packed round 3 at Leuchars in Scotland we’ve headed mid country to Milton Malsor in Northamptonshire, a venue we last visited in 2014. The feedback we’ve had from the first 3 rounds has been amazing, so thank you all for spending the time sending me emails and talking to me in person over the last 3 events. Motocross is our primary sport at RHL Activities and we are lucky enough to have the best youth motocross talent at our events in 2016. If you’ve never raced at Milton Malsor before, I’m sure you will enjoy the track. Over the last few weeks we posted images on our social media sites and the track looks in good condition and well looked after. The track itself is hardpack with plenty of twists, turns and jumps. As always, take your time in practice to get to know the layout and most of all enjoy your weekend with us. Since our very first British Youth National in 2012 the growth for the championship is very impressive, we have grown incredibly with riders who want to taste the excitement of British championship racing, the Thor British Youth Nationals is your stepping stone to the professional ranks at the Maxxis British Championship and for some the World motocross championship. Shaun Simpson is our BYN Ambassador, he will be available to answer your questions throughout the 2016 season, you can contact him direct on shaunsimpson24@rhlactivities.com for advice on anything race related. I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your amazing support - and we will continue to grow and lead from the front as the best and most professional youth championship in Europe. Lets hope its a great weekend for all, and I hope you enjoy your time with us at Milton Malsor.

SW85 CLASS

65 JUNIOR CLASS Ollie Colmer finished in 4th place in 2015 in the 65cc Junior class, he’s had the winter to grow his confidence and become a little bit stronger on the bike and challenge for the 2016 British crown.

Another rider who just missed out on a top 3 BYN overall British championship podium was Louie Kessell. Louie was super consistent in 2015 and expect more of the same and better in 2016 from the Cornwall based rider.

BW85 CLASS Eddie Jay Wade moves up to the BW85 class having just missed out on the SW85 title in 2015. Word is Eddie is loving his BW85 Husqvarna and has already won races in Europe in 2016. Will Eddie go one better this year at the Thor Youth Nationals and take a British title?

WHO TO WATCH IN 2016 WE TAKE A LOOK AT WHO TO LOOK OUT FOR IN THE 2016 THOR BRITISH YOUTH NATIONALS. RIDERS WHO MAY COME OUT SWINGING AND CHALLENGE FOR THE RESPECTIVE CLASS BRITISH TITLES. IT’S LONG, TOUGH SEASON AS THE CHAMPIONSHIP HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 6 ROUNDS COVERING MUCH OF THE UK FROM APRIL TO SEPTEMBER.

125 CLASS Most of the last years 125 class riders are now moving up to the Youth Open in 2016, Callum Green made the decision to stay put and focus on his quest to become a British champion. Definitely a rider to watch this season amongst the competitive two stroke 125 riders.

YOUTH OPEN CLASS Alexander Brown is the British 125 Youth Champion and moves up to the Youth Open Class in 2016 and like Eddie Wade has already showed his rapid pace by already winning races this year. Zander as he likes to be known, could be the rider to catch this season if his early season form is anything to by.

WELCOMES YOU TO THE 2016 THOR BRITISH YOUTH NATIONALS // Firstly I would like to welcome you to this year’s Thor British Youth Nationals at Milton Malsor in Northamptonshire, it’s going to be a very good weekend ahead for sure. 2016 has brought a new and exciting challenge for me. I will be the all new BYN Ambassador which will be something new and an exciting task for me. This is something that has interested me for a couple of seasons now, I raced through this championship as a schoolboy back in the day. Over a modestly successful career

so far I have gained many skills, techniques and pointers that I’m willing to pass down and share with you guys to better your performance and widen your range of access to answers of questions that you may have throughout a racing season. I want to give something back to the sport and hopefully to our future GP riders. If you have any questions, that you might want answering please email me direct at shaunsimpson24@ rhlactivities.com Can’t wait to hear from you guys Shaun Simpson British MX1 Champion

With only three weeks to go until the gates drop for Round 4 of the Thor British Youth Nationals, it’s fantastic to be back at Milton Malsor in Northamptonshire as the series is well and truly starting to heat up with championship titles being neck and neck already in most classes. The track has seen many changes over the years and has held rounds of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship, so it’s great to bring the series back since our last visit in 2014. Milton Malsor is fast and flowing, with a wide variety of jumps, rhythm sections and high speed turns this venue will leave you on a motocross high second to none. In the 65cc class Charlie Heyman is holding a strong lead with taking nineteen race wins, however had an unlucky final race in Leuchars. The rest of the top runners in the series Alfie Jones, Bailey Johnston, Kiean Boughen and Wal Beaney are giving it their all to push up in the championships and let’s see what Milton Malsor brings could it shake up things for the boys. Small Wheel 85cc Championship is a strong class for the series with some fast top runners, Ike Carter is the lad to be watching as he pushes to carry his lead further into Round 4 but there’s nothing stopping Bobby Bruce and Jack Grayshon giving Ike a run for the points at Milton. Rossi Beard well what an outstanding rider and proving to be a rider to watch in the Thor 85BW Champs as he moves up in the future potentially into the 125 or Open class. He currently has a big enough lead going into round four however Callum Mitchell, Josh Peters, Dominic Lancett and Reece Martin will be trying their best to grab those all important points for the championship Finally, the Open Class and Dexter Douglas is a man on a mission but we aren’t at the end of the series yet so there is plenty of chopping and changing that could happen over the final few rounds to mix up the championship for the year. George Grigg-Pettitt, Alexander Brown, David Galvin and Jed Etchells all giving their full attention and pushing it to the limit to take those all important points in the championship. Round 4 of the series is one to watch and we hope all riders have a fantastic weekend racing.
