Build A Bamboo Stalk

Did you know that, besides looking beautiful, bamboo produces lots of oxygen and provides food and income for billions of the world’s people?

Make The Leaf

1Cut along dashed lines. You’ll end up with two triangles. 2 Fold paper in half from side to side. Unfold.

3a Make creases along dashed lines.

3b Your model will look like this. 4 Make creases along dashed lines and shape leaf.

5You model will look like this. Flip over from side to side.

8Fold down along dashed lines. 6 Fold fl ap down. 7 Flip over from side to side.

9Flip your paper over to see the fi nal result! Make four or fi ve of these.

Make The Stalk

1Fold up along dashed line. 2 Flip over from side to side.

4Pull the lower corners outward. 5 Your model will look like this. Flip over from side to side. 6 Final result. Make three of these (four if you’d like a taller stalk).

Now that you’ve made the individual parts, put them all together on a card or picture. Just put a little double-sided tape on the back of each stalk and line them up vertically on a piece of card stock, white edge down.

Put a little double-sided tape on the back of your leaves and arrange them any way you like around your stalk. Stand back and admire! 3 Fold in to center.
