If I’m not at school, the only other place you can find me currently is at work. For the past two years I’ve been managing and running a restaurant. And this year I’ve been putting all of my free time and efforts towards that, in hopes of getting enough experience to open my own.

After graduating, I’m planning on attending Sierra College and spending the rest of my time to gain enough knowledge and experience to grow in the restaurant business and open up more places. I’m choosing to stay here because I want to keep my current job so I can have the guidance to work on my own place. However, that was never the plan. My plan has always been to attend a law school and become an immigration lawyer but after I got my job I realized how much I love doing this.

In 20 years from now, I would want to remember what I learned from the people at my schools. The course material and classes will fade from my memory eventully, but my mindset and perpective has been partly shaped by the people around me. I recently moved to Rocklin from a small town in Colorado, so my perceptions have changed immensley. I was able to leave things behind me and try to grow from there. In 20 years, I want to look back and see the positivity rather than the negativity in my life. Even though I am scaed of the uncertainties, I am excited to start the next chapter of my life. My next step is going to college. I got accepted into UCLA for astrophysics and I am looking forward to pursuing this path. I want to go into research in my future, but I don’t have a designated dream job yet. I am hoping to go with the flow and find my passion while in college. Even though I will miss my friends and family, I can’t wait to meet knew people. I also hope to study abroad. I have always loved to travel and I am fascinated by different architecture and cultures around the world.

Twenty years from now I would want to remember high school as a transition period. I came to high school as a scared, insecure freshman and over the years learned to accept and embrace myself for all I am. The confidence I have gained these last four years allow me to reach out to new people and try new things. This was a learning time of finding myself and learning to accept myself and others.

My plans for the future include going to Sierra for the first two years. I decided not to apply to universities for my mental health and financial reasons. I plan to transfer to UC Irvine and get a BA in criminology, law, and society. Afterwards I plan on becoming a police officer and working to reform the system by educating others in the ways of how society affects crime.

This year was super busy, but I knew I was having fun. I was able to dance as an activity, as my passion, but then I was also doing it to make money teaching dance. That was something really amazing this year. We have been having to follow COVID guidelines, but it is great to be in the studio with the kids, seeing them be transformed.

Next:

After high school, I am going to Sierra for two years for nursing and then I am going to transfer and finish my nursing degree. Dance is definitely something that throughout college I want to keep teaching but kind of as a side job. I had surgery when I was little and I got to see the amazing work that nurses can do and how they can help people feel better through such a hard time in their lives when they are going through surgery or just really sick. Being able to be there, comfort people, and give them good quality care is just something that I really want to be able to do for people. I am so beyond nervous, but I am also so beyond ready for it.

Now:

My life as I am finishing up my senior year of highschool, is looking great. I am spending quality time with my family, finalizing some work for college, and hanging out with friends as much as possible. I am working hard to finish out the semester strong, and making the best out of every moment I have left at Rocklin High School. Twenty years from now I´d want to look back at my life and remember all the amazing teachers that have impacted me, as well as all my friends that I have grown with throughout my highschool experience. I´d also want to remember the memories of Friday Night Lights, the competition and hype of rallies, and all the activities that make Rocklin High School a blast.

After highschool I will be attending Liberty University and majoring in Psychology. I am excited and looking forward to what the future holds for me. My plan is to work hard and pursue my goals to achieve greatness! I am so pumped to journey into my next chapter of life!
