Our ref: DB/KS June 2014
Dear Paul As the dust is starting to settle following our OFSTED visit recently I am writing on behalf of the Schools Governing body to offer our sincere congratulations on such a successful outcome. Whilst we were expecting inspection in the autumn of this year the premature visit still allowed us to show off the school at its best and the result demonstrated this. What impressed me most from the inspectors’ feedback were the positive comments regarding our teaching, the safe environment, support systems and the recognition that despite a difficult few (financial) years recently, through the contribution of all staff we have continued to grow, develop and deliver good education. The final element of feedback which made me very proud was the inspectors’ very positive impression of the students. It seems that every member of staff at Rhyddings rose to the challenge of the short notice inspection and therefore contributed to the result. On a personal note I am glad the process has now been concluded and we can start a new academic year without the expectation of an imminent visit. Where do we go from here? I am sure that with the direction and plans ongoing for school development already in place such a question is easily and readily answered. The size of the step to outstanding seems to have been increased! Perhaps we should progress incrementally because measured achieved steps will head us in the right direction. Very well done to all.
