REMINDER ABOUT STUDENT SAFETY TO AND FROM SCHOOL

5th December, 2014 Dear Parent/Carer Following on from the reminder about student safety to and from school we raised last week, we are asking parents to be extra vigilant and remind their son/daughter to take care walking to and from school, and whenever possible to walk with friends or other students. In the last three weeks there have been several incidents reported to the police regarding concerns in the Mill Hill and Fox Hill Bank areas of Oswaldtwistle. The police have advised us to inform all parents/carers and students to avoid these and other isolated areas. The police advice to all students is to walk in groups, along main roads and in well - lit areas. If any students feel in danger when walking to and from school they are advised to contact the police immediately dialing 999. As always, all staff will continue to be extra vigilant to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students at Rhyddings. We will continue to liaise with the local police to ensure our students are safe. Furthermore, if students do have any concerns, please let them know that they should talk to their form tutor or their year leader, who will take their concerns seriously. If parents/carers have concerns please do not hesitate to contact the school. Yours sincerely

Mrs Nuttall Acting Headteacher
