2021 / Year 3 / Semester 1 Undergraduate Project / Individual Softwares used: Rhino, Lumion, Illustrator

Project name: The Radical Library Project type: Design Studio

126-140 Little Bourke Street, Melbourne

Melbourne is a mix of chaos and calm. I aimed at creating a library space that is a response to the rigidity (strong linearity) of the city. With a mix of curvilinear and orthogonal spaces, I have made an attempt to gradually break away from the grid. By articulating the contrast between orthogonal and non-orthogonal forms, I aim to design some areas that align and some that do not align to the grid like appearance of the city. Followed by this, the internal study spaces begin to curve. It is with the help of these curves that I aim to develop a relationship between overall and independent volumes within the library.

2020 / Year 2 / Semester 2 Undergraduate Project / Individual Softwares used: Rhino, Twinmotion, Illustrator

Project name: The Urban Symbiosis Project type: An Urban Wildlife Park The Galada Avenue Reserve at Parkville

The project was about identifying the main weaknesses of the site, and transforming the landscape within the site. Through my design I have tried to, 1. Create viewing platforms that also serve as spots of immersion within nature. 2. Integrate more seats that will allow/ tempt people to spend more time around the site. 3.Create threshold through use of different materials, to introduce an element of suprise within landscape. 4.Create Exaggerated Landscape by using a rich palette of plants to attract the urban population and wildlife.

RENDER SHOWING AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES AROUND PAVILION

2019 / Year 2 / Semester 2 Undergraduate Project / Individual Softwares used: Rhino, Grasshopper, Twinmotion, Illustrator

Project name: The Nested Cavity Project type: Pavilion Design The Queen Victoria Garden , Melbourne

The brief was about designing a pavilion that provides shelter for a lunchtime seminar of 15 people + 1 presenter. The pavilion was to be made within a 5m x 5m x 5m bounding box. The designed pavilion was chosen to develop from a circle. The seating is tucked away under shelter, along the perimeter of the pavilion. This provided an overall view of activities going on around the space, making it more embedded in the surrounding. The idea of not having completely enclosed space was further improvised using the Voronoi Plugin in grasshopper that allowed for creation of cavity spaces which were filled with translucent fluorescent sheets.

Response to wind 1 Seat arrangement Sun

2 Performance Area 3 Focal Spaces

Better sun exposure

Since the direction of wind in Melbourne flows from south and north, I tried to push the entry further towards those ends to not only enable easy access of people but also ensure that the place is airy.
