An Invitation to Join Us DEAR COLLEAGUES, We would like to invite you to join us in Las Vegas to learn about specific breast brachytherapy techniques, current data, and current trials of interest, and to explore the expanding experience of Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI). We are excited to host the association’s eleventh ABS Breast Brachytherapy School in 2013 in conjunction with the American Society of Breast Surgeons. The meeting will be at the spectacular Mandarin Oriental hotel in Las Vegas. The school faculty represents the widest breadth of breast brachytherapy experience in the world. We are ready to share our ideas and technical expertise to the benefit of anyone embarking on a new program of breast brachytherapy or anyone wanting to further strengthen an existing program. In addition, we have added controversial topics, new ideas being investigated and debates. We will be creating a collegial and academic environment to expand your understanding of APBI. Space is limited, so be sure to register early. Please join us for a great time and invaluable take-home knowledge to apply to your own accelerated partial breast irradiation program. Sincerely,

Douglas W. Arthur, MD

6.

Compare the scientific

rationale for APBI and receive detailed presentations of completed and ongoing Phase III trials.

7.

Appreciate and describe new directions of investigation promising to expand the application of APBI.

Address management of difficult

cases through a case based panel discussion. Review existing APBI

treatment technology and device options with correlating details on device management and dosimetry. Analyze basic principles of IntraOperative Radiotherapy and how it compares and contrasts with APBI.
