Sub-machine gun

THE new generation of sub-machine guns

ULTRA LIGHTWEIGHT The new Beretta PMX sub-machine gun, in 9x19 mm (9mm Parabellum) caliber, is developed specifically for the demanding needs of Law Enforcement and Military users around the world. Reliability, accuracy, and safety were the main guidelines when it was developed the PMX project.

Blow-back design Reversible cocking handle

Foldable rear sight. Adjustable in windage.

Foldable front sight. Adjustable in elevation.

Top Picatinny rail

Cold-hammer forged barrel

Folding stock

3-Position fire selector lever.

Polymer frame

Side Picatinny rail Lower Picatinny rail

Sound suppressor compatibility Ambidextrous fire selector

Large ambidextrous magazine release button

Barrel and bolt made of high strength alloy steel

The extensive use of polymer materials and light alloy metals allowed the design of a compact, lightweight, yet rugged design, one which is versatile and easy to deploy in combat. The major components: barrel and bolt, are machined from a special high-strength steel, specifically designed to withstand the rigors of harsh environments and abusive conditions.

Transluscent polymer magazine.

The barrel is cold-hammer forged featuring a 254 mm rifling (right-handed)

EASY FIELD STRIPPING

SAfety at 360° The three-position fire selector, conveniently located on both sides of the polymer lower receiver is easy accessible for right and left-handed use. It permits the selection between safe, single and full auto fire. The selector safety blocks the trigger/hammer and an automatic firing pin block prevents forward movement of the firing pin unless the trigger is fully pulled or in case the submachine gun is accidentally dropped. A bolt-open lever holds the bolt open and rearward after the last round is fired. This allows the user to immediately determine that the sub-machine gun does not have a round in the chamber or in the magazine. The operation of the PMX is based on a blow-back system design with closedbolt firing mode.

The field stripping procedures have been reduced to a minimum in order to take down the PMX sub-machine gun in a few seconds without the use of tools. To reduce wear and guarantee corrosion resistance, special surface finishes and treatments are dedicated to the metal parts of the firing mechanisms and on the areas where friction between components exists. The result is a reduction of maintenance operations, time and frequency.

MODULARITY

VERSATILITY The lightweight and ergonomically designed stock can be folded by simply pushing a button, resulting in a compact and easy to carry/conceal firearm. The stock is provided with a rubber recoil pad to reduce the felt recoil and improve its grip onto the shoulder. The oversized magazine release buttons, positioned on both sides of the sub-machine gun, guarantee easy operation when wearing gloves. A tactical carrying sling can be attached on the two ambidextrous swivels located in front and rear of the PMX.

A transluscent, lightweight and yet resistant, 30-round polymer magazine allows visual count of the rounds. The cocking handle can be easily reversed in order to be comfortably operated from either side, depending on user preference and training. The rear sight is easily adjustable in windage and the front sight can be adjusted in elevation. They are removable in order to use any other type of sight system or aiming accessories suitable for the Picatinny rail mount. The Beretta PMX sub-machine gun is equipped with Picatinny rails (MIL-STD-1913) positioned on top, bottom and on the sides of the receiver in order to mount illuminators, pointers or other enablers, as well as vertical front grips or hand guards.
