The Hype Theory
Katy talks about the recording of their new album "Glory Days"... How did the band form?
The band formed when myself and Sean met at university, we started writing songs together and quickly decided that we needed to turn our project into a band. We went on the hunt for like minded people and the rest of the members eventually fell into place after much experimenting.
How was the recording of "Glory Days"?
It was a tough process, we were all out to try and achieve the best result possible so the days were long and we were constantly
rewriting parts and adding bits to try and make it the best it could be. We also had a lot of fun in the studio and to hear all our hard work start to unfold was a great feeling.
What was the concept behind the album?
The album is about being young and starting to grow up and all the things that go on at that point in your life. We wanted to write an
album that everyone can relate to whether it be them looking back on when they went through it, or them going through it at the time. It's something that everyone has or will experience and for us it was something that was very much happening for all of us when we wrote the album.
If your music were to be adapted into film, what story would it tell?
It would tell the story of a girl who falls in love, makes a lot of mistakes, loves her friends but knows that none of it will last forever and that everything has to change eventually. Design & Interview: Rick Words: Katy Jackson
