Wolves Like Us
On how a "not-so-healthy amount of beers" helped create a band and their new record "Late Love" How did the band form? (Jonas) Through beer! Ha-ha. We all have known each other through the music scene in Oslo throughout the years. In early 201 0, when my old band started a hiatus, (which probably will take years) I met up with Lars to ask about his plans with music and if he was up for starting something brand new. I loved his old band (Infidels Forever) which also was on the down side and after a not-so-healthy amount of beers we agreed we should "try it out". He again called up his other band mates from Infidels Forever and they liked the idea and our first rehearsal was the 24th of March 201 0.
play better. The drums were recorded in a separate studio before Christmas and the rest during January 201 1 in a studio called Caliban. Lars even got a daughter in the middle of the vocal session so he deserves a lot of respect for keeping focused. The whole thing was mixed in Ruben's rehearsal room and the almighty Dave Collins (Soundgarden, Queens of The Stone age, Weezer) did the mastering. So for our first album we couldn't be more happy and especially after all that has happened with us in this short time we have been a band. All hail the Prosthetic guys for signing us and releasing the record world wide.
If your music were to be adapted into film, what story would it tell? I've actually thought about that before, it's a really good question. It would have to be a bittersweet story like the Jim Jarmush film "Broken Flowers", or maybe "Sideways" by Alex Payne. Something a little weird and funny, but that has a serious side to it. I like the idea of using humor to tell a kind of sad story. Not that everything in our music is sad, but there's definitely a degree of seriousness that you have to deliver in a more non threatening way. Or else you turn into Leonard Cohen, which I'm way too young for.
Would you like to come to Portugal? You've just come off a small tour with YES! How was the recording of "Late Blood Command. How did that go? Love"? (Jonas) That was hectic but cool. We (Lars) It went great, we've toured with them before and we know them well, Design & Interview: Rick might have jumped into the studio 'too Words by: Jonas and Lars quick' but we are all super happy with and we had a good time.
