ACADEMIC CALENDAR The College’s academic year comprises two semesters, followed by an optional threeweek Liberal Arts In Focus term. Often, In Focus participants spend a week on campus in intensive study and preparation, followed by two weeks of travel to locations around the United States and destinations overseas. SCHOLARSHIPS Ripon College provides merit-based and performance/recognition-based scholarships to international students who qualify and meet financial requirements. These scholarships help meet the difference between your resources and the total annual costs to attend Ripon. RIPON COLLEGE CAMPUS OUR ACTIVE STUDENTS • Ripon offers 21 NCAA Division III varsity athletic teams. • Thirty-seven percent of students are a member of a varsity athletic team. • Eighty-one percent of students volunteer their time to community service. • Ripon offers more than 60 studentrun clubs and organizations. • Seventy percent of students participate in student-run club or intramural sports.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS SERVICES Ripon College provides basic health care to students, including acute care for illness and emergencies, health and wellness promotion and opportunities to participate actively in your own health care. On-campus counseling services also are available at no charge. These services include individual and group counseling, referrals and workshops. Ripon College requires all international students to hold valid health care coverage during the duration of their study. Suggested health care plans may be found at

ORIENTATION PROGRAMS First-time students from the United States and abroad receive help to adjust to life at college. International students typically arrive on campus one week before classes start to allow adequate time to adjust to new surroundings and time zones, and to take part in special “Welcome Week” programming, including social activities, mixers and an extensive tour of campus and the surrounding areas.
HOME AWAY FROM HOME To establish a home base closer to campus, Ripon’s “Home Away from Home” program is a great option for international students. The College connects interested international students with host families who provide a fun and welcoming outlet away from the rigors of college life.
THE CENTER FOR DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION In this center, students may build community and relationships with peers of similar experiences. The center helps to raise awareness of diversity issues, increase intercultural competence, and promote dialogue and respect of all students. Learn more at

RESEARCH, PROGRAMS OF EXCELLENCE, CAMPUS RESOURCES Ripon’s rigorous curriculum and active residential campus prepare students of diverse interests for lives of productive, socially responsible citizenship. Coursework challenges students to examine questions in depth, identify patterns of logic and reasoning, think critically, consider multiple contexts, and pursue independent research and present findings publicly.
PROGRAMS OF EXCELLENCE High-achieving students who want to pursue personal achievement, professional development and academic excellence may qualify for Ripon’s Presidential Leadership Program. Each year, 18 upcoming sophomores are selected to join. Many of these students will go on to apply for Ripon’s National Scholarship Program, which identifies and cultivates exceptional candidates for nationally competitive scholarships, fellowships, grants and awards. The program provides specialized faculty advisers, workshops, networking opportunities and other resources to help Ripon’s most extraordinary students compete for the country’s most prestigious academic honors.

UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH All Ripon students are challenged to pursue answers to serious research questions individually or jointly with faculty members. Current Ripon students are actively engaged in research sponsored by a number of noteworthy foundations, including the National Science Foundation, American Chemical Society, and National Endowment for the Humanities.
STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES Tutoring, mentoring and other support services are available to all Ripon College students regardless of financial need. In addition, eligible first-year students can request a Peer Contact, an upper-level student who meets with you regularly to assist with the academic and social transition from high school to college.

INTERNSHIPS, CAREERS, GRADUATE SCHOOL Graduates of Ripon College go on to serve in a variety of roles and succeed at the highest levels of national and international government, education, politics, medicine, finance, the arts, business and other professional fields. Each student entering the College is assigned a faculty mentor. Together, faculty mentors and staff in the Department of Career and Professional Development work with students throughout their time on campus to help set goals and construct a plan and series of workshops, networking and internship experiences to help reach those goals. Students can apply for Ripon’s unique Career Discovery Tour, offered during fall and spring breaks. Participating students travel to vibrant cities in the United States to visit the workplaces of alumni and friends of the College and gain first-hand knowledge of a variety of careers and cities.

APPLYING TO RIPON COLLEGE 1. A completed application — Students may apply online through our website, use the Common Application or submit a written application by downloading the PDF from ripon.edu/international.
2. At the time of application, an international student is required to submit an unofficial translated version of their secondary school transcripts. If an international student chooses to enroll they are required to provide an official evaluation of their secondary schooling and/or postsecondary schooling. This evaluation should be completed through either World Education Services (wes.org) or through One Earth Evaluations (oneearthevaluations.org). These evaluations can take several weeks to complete. Please plan accordingly.
3. Applicants are required to demonstrate their proficiency in English by providing results from one of these four exams: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), ACT or SAT. Acceptable minimum scores: TOEFL Paper-550, CBT-213, or IBT-79; IELTS overall bandwidth score of a 6.5 or higher; ACT 24 our of 36 for English/Writing; SAT 550 out of 800 for Critical Reading.
4. R ipon College Certificate of Finance form (PDF). International applicants will not be considered for admission or scholarships until this document is completed and returned by email or by mail. This document must be accompanied by an official bank statement from each source of funding that is notarized and signed by a bank official reflecting the final balance of the account in U.S. dollars. Ripon College also will accept the International Student Financial Aid Application (ISFAA) form through College Board; still required is an official bank statement, notarized and signed by a bank official with the total balance in the account listed in U.S. dollars from each funding source.
