Questions
1) Is your production fit for purpose? E.g. does it fulfil the codes and conventions of a TV advert? Is it 3060seconds?
2) Compare with original intentions – have you achieved what you set out to? Refer to your preproduction; script, storyboard, shot list and shooting schedule.
Advert
This advert fits the code and convention because the points get across in the limited time. It also uses different persuasion like humor when the guy came to kick the food and bribery with the McDonald’s offers.
Our pre-production was different from our original intention. Our original intention was to film our advert in Nandos but we couldn’t so we decided to use a bus stop and link to Mc Donald’s. Even though we couldn’t use Nandos we still used the same story line in getting our message across just with different locations but not the same shots because we couldn’t use the same location. We stuck to our shooting schedule but had to add in extra days to reshoot a scene
Screen capture
3) Technical qualities – are there any flaws in the filming or editing? Does the advert look professional?
I think the filming was ok but could be better with camera angle by moving the camera closer so we get rid of the dead space. Also the lighting was a bit off as well because it was inconsistent which made it difficult to use some of the shot so we had to film some of the shots again
4) Accessibility to Target Audience – does the show seem appropriate to the audience that you identified - how/why?
The target audience of this advert is for people that are 15-30yrs. This is because these people can pay for their own phone network. I think it reaches our target audience because they also get half price and McDonald’s which where they can save money and also save money by customizing there own data base. We chose McDonald’s
because it appear more to young people in the sense that they mostly eat McDonald’s then expensive restaurant 5) What were your contributions to the advert? How did you divide up the work? Did you feel like you worked well as a team?
We divide the work into parts and selected who should do what part by choosing who was best for the job. For the team I did part of the story board, asked nandos for permission, and bought the props for the second take of the last scene
6) What have you learned from making your advert? Is there anything you would do differently next time?
From making this advert I’ve learnt that the simple detail could have an impact on the advert. If I was to do this again I will retake some of the shots to make it more professional by using more shot types. We could also have rehearsed especially on the last scene. If had a big budget we could have paid for the
location and actors.
