The agency manages multiple creative spaces including the new art studios on Oliver street, and Tea House in Station North. In addition we have begun the process of developing our flagship space, STEREO, a 12,000 sqft performance venue in Clipper Mill. Upon completion, the space will serve as Baltimore’s premier indoor art center, hosting large-scale events, fully immersive art experiences and various social impact driven programs.

URBAN ART PARK We have been working fervently to transform a derelict 3.5 acre site, located in the heart of Baltimore, into an urban arts park. The park will feature over 70,000 square feet of street at, three live performance venues, and and an acre of lush green space. The development of this park will provide an opportunity for a community of artist and social innovators to set a precedent in urban design that inspires the world.

CREATIVE LABS

STEREO

The Creative Labs is a incubator aimed at spurring entrepreneurship amongst Baltimore’s creative community. By providing affordable maker space and access to an evolving suite of multidisciplinary studios, we aim to help sustain successful careers in the arts to our cohort of 20+ resident artists. Upon completion, the Labs will feature a wide variety of resources including a green screen, cyclorama, fablab, art gallery, design studios, conference room, paint booth, dark room, washout booth, art storage and over 5,000sqft of communal space.

Currently under development is Section1’s flagship indoor arts space. This Phase II expansion of the Creative Labs, provides an ideal location for a 850 person capacity performance venue. Plans for the site include hosting international music acts, social impact events, immersive art experiences and site rentals. Central to Section1’s mission of scaling social impact, Stereo will partner with several non-profit organizations to provide space to grow mission driven programming.

SOCIAL IMPACT Our mission is simple, we are here to elevate baltimore’s arts community by stimulating entrepreneurship within the city’s creative economy. Through these efforts we aim to promote diversity, encourage social discourse and develop innovative environments which lead to positive systemic change. Section1 Inc, the non-profit branch of Section1 Creative, provides our organization, and vast network of clients,the access to scale their social impact. Section1 Inc.’s focuses include, building safe cultural arts venues, bolstering the creative workforce, and developing cultural and educational arts programing. In a community like Baltimore with it diverse group of talented, motivated artists and changemakers, our organization will continue to lead by example as we work to revolutionize the process.

Section1 Reclaimed In the Spring of 2015 the Section1 team partnered with Volunteering Untapped, a Baltimore based nonprofit organization that combines volunteering efforts with social events to give back to the local community. This collaboration led to ‘Reclaimed’, which hosted a cleanup of the future park site. Over 300 volunteered contributed to the effort and in under four hours collected over 40,000lbs of trash and debris from the site.
