FROM THE BOARDROOM Good afternoon and welcome to Creasey Park. We welcome the players, officials and supporters of Kidlington for this fixture. In the corresponding match earlier in the season the Blues secured a 5-1 victory on the back of an Arel Amu hat trick. However, we are expecting a very tough fixture today as Kidlington seek to build on some improved form. Injuries and suspensions have take their toll in the last few weeks, and this coupled with the very windy conditions at Aylesbury last week have left the team short of points in recent games. We still continue to try and play the game on the deck and I feel sure that we will be rewarded, hopefully starting this afternoon. There is a good spirit in the team and a determination to put to bed this difficult run. Peter Burrows and myself had the opportunity to attend a business Expo at Weatherfield School on Wednesday. We really value our relationship with this excellent school, and the Expo also afforded us the opportunity to meet up with other local businesses and discuss how we might work together. I was heartened by how positive others are by the ethos we are employing as a Community, Sustainable, Pathway club. We are working tirelessly to broaden our reach and make connections with people who will support what we are trying to achieve. We have also added a number of people to our ‘100 Club’ family in the last couple
of weeks. If you are not yet a participator, this is an excellent scheme to help fund the club as well as providing a substantial weekly prize fund. For just £3 per week per ball why not sign up? Just a reminder about our Just Giving appeal in collaboration with MIND and MIND BLMK. It would be great if you could support this initiative. It works for all three parties and the funds raised will really make a difference. Have a look at the page and give if you can. As I mentioned in my Didcot programme notes ,we are also close to announcing a partnership with a local business that will benefit the club, the business, and you our supporters. Look out for more on this in the near future. A heads up about the the Development Team’s upcoming Cup Final appearance. The date has been set for Wednesday 17th April against Henlow. This fixture will be played at Kempston Rovers ground, kick off at 7.30pm. Finally let’s really get behind Gareth and the team this afternoon.
Enjoy the m atch Neil

MANAGER’S NOTEBOOK A very warm welcome to Creasey Park this afternoon. Especially to Julian, his staff and players and everyone else associated with Kidlington FC, in what is an important match for all of us. It cannot be underestimated how difficult this game will be for us this afternoon, as we play a very hard-working side, on a rich run of form, picking up 10 points from the last 5 games. Saturday’s Match against Aylesbury FC saw us now on a disappointing run of four games without point. Something that we know full well is unacceptable and are working tirelessly on the training pitch and behind-the-scenes to correct. We are fully aware that only hard work and sheer desire to succeed will get us back into winning ways. This is something that I am confident you will see from the lads this afternoon! At the time of writing this, I am hopeful that previously injured players will again be available for selection as well as a new face or two, however Gedeon Okito and Saul Williams are still out, as this game is the last of their 3 match suspensions. We are also still without Nathan Harness, as he continues his trial period at West Ham.
Finally, I would just like to thank all of you in your ongoing support and to ask for that to be continued with gusto, as we reach the final 7 games of the season. I hope you enjoy the game and cheer the lads on to a very important and hard earned 3 points. Enjoy the game

KIDLINGTON PLAYER PROFILES Sam Warrell – Goalkeeper This season’s skipper. Sam has many years of Southern League experience, a stand out performer for Kidlington last season and commands his back line superbly. Nick Lacey - Goalkeeper Lacey is a popular member of Kidlington Football Club who will provide great back up to Sam. Good with his hands and agile on his feet, Tommy Castle - Defender Tom is back with us after a short spell away. Converted into a left full back or wingback, his constant running and ability to get back and defend or get forward beyond the last man is why he’s such an important member of the squad. Marvin Martin - Defender Recently signed from Banbury United. Superb defender who’s reading of the game is second to none, glides over the ground, but can be battle ready when needed. Previous clubs include Oxford United. Josias Carbon - Defender Recently signed from Wantage Town. Jay is a very versatile defender who has good ability and temperament. Previous Clubs include Didcot Town, Oxford City and Slough Town.
Tom Franklin Defender
–
Last season’s skipper comes back to Yarnton Road following a short spell with Abingdon Town. A real solid defender who loves to get stuck in. Jack Bernasconi – Defender Jack has recently joined us from Abingdon Town. He’s a quick and effective defender who after his first showing looks to be of a high quality. Jack was previously with Didcot Town. Jack Quainton – Defender / Midfield Jack is a central midfielder or right back with a massive engine, no man covers more ground than him during a game and he will often pop up in the opponent’s box to score a goal. Josh Tooke – Defender / Midfield Josh is a youngster who came through the ranks here at Yarnton Road last season. He left for pastures new at the end of our last campaign but is now back with us. He is a promising right footed midfielder. Pacey and skilful Declan Benjamin – Midfield - Declan’s a dynamic central midfielder with a wealth of experience. Previous clubs include Oxford United, Oxford City, Banbury United and Didcot Town.
KIDLINGTON PLAYER PROFILES Elliott Osborne-Ricketts – Midfield - Elliott is a busy and skilful midfielder who’s hard graft never goes unnoticed. Always alert and on the look out to pick that perfect pass. His previous clubs include North Leigh. Ben Willoughby - Midfield
and can score spectacular goals. Darius is a player who always plays with a smile on his face, recently re-signed from Banbury United.
Another player who will run all day long. A midfielder who loves to get on the ball and make things happen. Ben is a real workhorse and loved by all Kidlington’s supporters.
Mark Janes – Striker Mark is a welcome addition to our squad as he is a proven goal scorer at Southern League level. We are all looking forward to see him lead the line for us once again.
Lewis Gabbidon – Midfield
Anaclet Odhiambo - Striker
Gabbie is back after starting the season with Banbury United. Gabbie controls the midfield area where he is strong on the ground and tough the air. He is quite simply a Rolls-Royce of a player.
Vastly experienced and prolific goal scorer who returns after a short spell away at Abingdon Town. Has also previously played for Abingdon United
Joey Cowlishaw – Midfield
Youngster Harry is new to us this season. We have only had brief glimpses of his talent so far, but what we’ve seen we like. Hopefully he’ll get more football as the season progresses’
Joey comes into the first team set up from the youth side. Only 17 years old Joey loves to get on the ball and get at players. An exciting prospect and one to watch this season. Lewis Coyle – Midfield / Striker Coyley was with Thatcham Town at the beginning of the season, but he’s now back home at Yarnton Road. Darius Browne – Midfield / Striker Is an exciting wide man who on his day can memorise any opponent’s defenders
Harry Williams – Striker
Ryan Brooks - Striker – Ryan is a proven goal scorer at this level but keeping him fit is the key to his success. When he’s on song he terrorises opposing defenders and can score hatful’s of goals. Chris Jordan – Striker – Chris is looking like an astute signing, he is young and raw but has potential to score goals and help us move up the table.

REPORTING IN
AYLESBURY 3-2 DUNSTABLE TOWN Dunstable kicked into the wind in the first half. Such was the ferocity of the gusts that one of Connor Coulson’s goal kicks caught the wind and blew back almost going out for a corner kick. It was the type of day when passes needed to be on the ground as the wind made controlled passing above ground a lottery. With Aylesbury enjoying a good run of form which has included wins against Bedford and Cambridge City and a draw against Didcot in their last three matches, Dunstable knew they would need to be at their best to get anything from the game. In the early exchanges neat interlinking play saw Davide Pobbe set up Chris Wreh whose shot on target was blocked and then shortly after a delightful Dunstable move with Erin Amu & Alex Taylor pulling the strings, saw Davide Pobbe ruled offside as he ran one on one against Josh Templeton in the Aylesbury goal. Dunstable appeared to be coping well with the conditions and edged towards the half hour mark with the score still tied, until up popped Ryan Young to give the home side the lead. Even before his goal Ryan had created a couple of chances for his colleagues which deserved better finishes. Two minutes later and Aylesbury got a second as the wind held up a throw from Connor Coulson towards Marius “Paddy” Patru. An alert Aylesbury forward pounced, squared the ball and suddenly Dunstable were two down. Back came Dunstable and within two minute later James Lauder finished with aplomb to halve the deficit and in so doing scored his
first senior goal for the Club. Paddy so nearly scored an equaliser with a 30 yard screamer which whistled inches wide of the near post. Even Aylesbury supporters at half time were heard to say they thought Chris Wreh being brought to the ground was a penalty but none was given. Then of course the inevitable happened, and instead of being all square at half time, Aylesbury scored in first half stoppage time and even have the temerity to do it on a break from a Dunstable corner. If referee Wayne Chalmers had been uncertain about a spot kick in the first half, he pointed straight to the spot early in the second half as Alex Taylor was brought down in the box. Chris Wreh emphatically hammered the ball home to again reduce the deficit to just one goal. A Daniel Trif special just after the hour mark had the Dunstable supporters out of their seats in expectation of the ball nestling in the back of the net only to sit down again with exclamations of horror as the ball went agonisingly wide. The well marshalled Aylesbury defence held firm and was not to breached again, despite Dunstable using all three permitted substitutes. For the neutral this would have been a good game to watch with plenty of to and fro and healthy endeavour, unfortunately for Dunstable though it condemned the Team to a fourth consecutive defeat.

23 MARCH 1895 - OTHER THAN THAT, HOW WAS THE MATCH? On 23 March 1895, Manchester City FC set its record League victory, beating Lincoln City FC by a score of 11-3 (also a record loss for Lincoln City). Manchester City was founded in 1880 as St. Marks (West Gorton), but moved to Hyde Road, Ardwick in 1887 and accordingly changed its name to Ardwick A.F.C. Ardwick joined the Football League as a founding Second Division member in 1892, along with 11 other teams, including Lincoln City. During the 1893-94 season, Ardwick underwent a reorganization and reformed as Manchester City FC. Despite its stunning victory over Lincoln City in the 1894-95 season, Manchester City finished that year in 9th position out of 16
Second Division teams, with a record of 14 wins, 3 draws, and 13 losses. Four years later, however, Manchester City won the Second Division, earning promotion to the First Division. In fact, Manchester City holds the record for most second-tier titles with 7. Throughout its history, Manchester City has moved between the top two levels of English football, except for the 1988-99 season, where it played in the third level (known as Division Two after the establishment of the Premier League). Manchester City currently plays in the Premier League, where it has been since the 2002-03 season.
