Our snowmobile safari bobbed and weaved through the Lapland wilderness to a husky farm, stopping periodically to take some more Instagram pictures and to allow the ‘slow-mobiles’ to catch up. I heard the howls first, and then saw fangs glinting in the powdery snow. ‘They’re wolves,’ I said under my billowing
breath, as a troupe of excited Alaskan and Siberian huskies went completely bonkers, snatching violently at their harnesses. A cacophony of canines led me through forests and lakesides – my own private Narnia – at a sped of about 20km/h. The dogs are extremely photogenic and it’s easy to film your safari during the sled ride. At the end of the trail I’m exhilarated, having answered the call of the wild, husky style. Forget about snow-globes and plastic Santas – Lapland is a spellbinding, magical place for real adventurers. >>

Touch to focus and meter The camera uses metering to decide how much light to let into the aperture. What you tap on is what it focuses on and meters from. This stops photos where someone’s face looks pitch-black, but the tiny pinprick
of light that they’re posing next to comes out perfectly.

Clean your lens A quick polish up with a microfibre cloth will rid the lens of any smears. Avoid those selfies that look like a fishand-chips wrapper.
