September-October ◆ September 30: Villa Louis Behind the Scenes. Take a peek behind the velvet ropes of a historic house museum on the last Friday of the month from June-October. This tour presents a more in-depth look at the Dousman family and gives a glimpse into the day-to-day inner workings of this restored Victorian mansion. Each round of behind-the-scenes tours highlights a different object from the Dousman family collection. Tours are two hours and include visits to the nooks and crannies of the restored mansion, including the attic and basement. Visit historic cemeteries in Prairie du Chien and meet residents who were part of the rich heritage of this community. Guided tours at 10 am, noon and 2 pm.
