Think Local!
NAME OF BUSINESS: The Donut Diner Year established: 2015 Tell us a little about your business: What do you do? We are a small donut shop that offers donuts and much more! Great coffee, soups, sandwiches and the best biscuits and gravy in town! How many “neighbors” do you employ? Currently a one-woman shop! I do it all! Recognizing you can do business anywhere… why are you here? Originally from the area my husband and I retired from the Air Force and a lifetime of living away. We both knew that this was the area we wanted to call home. Once here we saw a need for a donut shop. The rest, as they say, is history! Kristi thinking local! What’s the one thing you wish everyone knew about your business? That I am here, ready and willing to serve you. I do whatever I can to make sure your dining experience (whether eating in or carry out) exceeds your expectations. What makes your business unique? I make the donuts in house every day. Ours are not mass produced or factory made. We carry a wide variety of flavors. Our number one donut would be the maple bacon, followed closely by chocolate caramel and yeast raised glazed. Other than providing jobs and paying taxes what are some other ways you give back to the community? Every once in a while I make too many donuts….oops!!! If that happens I take them to nursing homes, the ER, or maybe even the police station. I do this so that the food is not wasted and to let these workers know how much I appreciate their commitment to others and our community. Parting thoughts….please share anything else you’d like our readers to know: Here at the Donut Diner I’m always looking for ways to improve so that I may serve you better. I have gluten-free muffins as well as regular muffins. I am constantly working on healthier meal options as well. Owner: Kristi McConkey Address: 196 Church Street, Richland Center Phone: 608-604-0777 Hours: Monday thru Friday 7AM – 3PM Email: klmmcconkey@gmail.com
