Reta E. Kramer, age 85, of rural West Lima, passed away at home on Saturday, June 27, 2015. She was born in West Lima on February 28, 1930, the daughter of Isaac and Clara E. (Snyder) Wallace. Reta graduated Salutatorian of her class from West Lima High School in 1947 and later from Richland County Normal. She taught 38 students in a one room country school in rural Boscobel. She met Russell Kramer in Prairie du Chien at a dance, and they married August 16, 1952 at the West Lima EUB Church. They honeymooned on a trip to California in a ‘51 Chevy. They resided on the Kramer farm near Eastman raising their family, including Darla (Martin) Bennett, Wallace (Pamela) Kramer, Randy Kramer (deceased), and Kimberly (Christian) Cejpek , where they raised beef cattle and crops. They then moved to the Wallace homestead farm in rural West Lima in 1967 where they continued to farm. Later, in the early 1970s she was afforded the opportunity to complete her college degree in education from UW Platteville. She was hired by the Richland School District, teaching at Gillingham, Washington and Rockbridge Elementary Schools until retirement. Reta and Russell enjoyed

travelling together. Some of their travels included: Norway, Sweden and Denmark, Israel, China, Canada, Alaska and Hawaii, and nearly all 50 United States. Reta was an accomplished pianist already at the age of 16. She played piano, organ and accordion. Her love was playing for her church functions and giving piano lessons. Along with her love for music was more importantly her love for serving Christ, her family, students and others. In addition to her husband and children, Reta is survived by Grandchildren: Jennifer (Carl) Hamilton, Thad Bennett, Kara Bennett, David (Bethany) Kramer, Katlyn (Kyle) Nauertz, Elisabeth (Andrew) Niemeyer, Nellie Cejpek, Alexander Cejpek; Five great grandchildren, Sister and brother in law, Elaine Kramer, Keith (Sue) Kramer,Nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends. Reta was preceded in death by her parents, her son Randy, her brother Robert Wallace and sister in law Beverly Wallace. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Richland Center Free Methodist Church. Pastor David Frank will officiate and burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Friends may call at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM or at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time. The family suggests memorials in Reta’s name may be directed to Vernon Memorial Hospice, La Farge Rescue Squad or to the West Lima Church of Christ. The Pratt Funeral Service is assisting the Kramer family. Online condolences may be made at prattfuneralservice. com
