NAME OF BUSINESS: Partners of Richland Hospital Lobby Shoppe Year established: Sometime in the 1960s Tell us a little about your business: What do you do? We are a coffee and gift shop. Each weekday we serve up wonderful breakfast and lunch items. Clothing and accessories for women, décor, baby things and men’s gifts too! How many “neighbors” do you employ? We have a mix of volunteers and full time employees. Recognizing you can do business anywhere…why are you here? Our mission is to support the Richland Hospital – that’s why we’re here! “Janet thinking local” What’s the one thing you wish everyone knew about your business? That there is no need to travel out of town looking for unique gift items – we have them right here! And, that we serve delicious and healthy hot breakfast and lunch options. Along with really good coffee! What makes your business unique? Any profits we make go directly back into the hospital. It’s a great way to help ensure we continue having quality healthcare right here at home through our active scholarship program. Other than providing jobs and paying taxes what are some other ways you give back to the community? Our volunteers are active in many ways throughout the community. They all work hard to make Richland Center a great place to live and work. Parting thoughts….please share anything else you’d like our readers to know: We are open Monday through Friday 7AM – 5PM. Stop in anytime – our coffee pot is always on!

Isabelle’s daughter, Debbie Lord, says that her mother liked the stay at Pine Valley. The family is very ryy happy with the care that Isabelle receives. Last year, it became a strugg ggle g for Isabel to live alone on a daily basis. It was a diffffificult i decision to make, but when Isabelle was ready, she said she wanted to move back to Pine Valley Community tyy Village. She liked it there. The day that she moved in, Isabelle said, “I’m not even going to turn around and look back.” Isabelle already knew some of the employees and one of them was Debbie’s best friend from childhood. Rosie is “like a daughter” to Isabelle. And Rhonda, Rh h who the family knows, is, as Debbie says, “such a hard worker and good with Mom.” The head nurse, Rachelle, talks with Isabelle about sports— Isabell had played basketball and baseball in high school.

For more information visit PineValleyCommunity ty.org y or call (608) 647-2138

As Debbie says, “For us, the stress of the world is lifted. We know she’s getting round-the-clock care and don’t worry about her falling. What a blessing.”
