A. Yes! Most people think that chiropractors can only make adjustments to the back; however, Dr. Unwin has gone for extensive education and certification so that she can most accurately assess Jill Unwin, Lee Unwin, numerous conditions that affect elbows, shoulders, wrists, knees, DC, CCEP BCMT, CSCS hips and feet. When looking for a chiropractor to adjust your extremities check to see that they are a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner or CCEP for short. Often times the pain you feel in the arms or legs can be attributed to a misaligned bone technically called a subluxation; this can cause nerve impingement or a compression at the articulating surfaces of the joint. Correcting the subluxation restores normal function and decreases your pain. So yes, we can help you with your pain and hopefully we just might add a few yards to your drive as well.

Q. What do I need to do to take care of my child’s teeth? A. Generally, a child gains their first baby tooth around 6 months of age and continues to get
could be going on with her?
A. There are many causes for each of these two problems, so it important that your dog get
a veterinary examination. One common cause of itchy ears is allergies. In broad terms, allergies are commonly caused by the body reacting either to proteins in the environment (pollens, molds, mites, etc) or to ingredients in food. We see food allergies quite commonly in dogs. Signs of food allergies are non-seasonal and usually include itching, especially of the head and rear end areas. Digestive symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea may also be seen. The most common food ingredients that cause allergies in dogs are chicken, chicken egg, milk, Dr. Barney Smith wheat, soy and corn – but potentially any food ingredient that a dog eats can cause allergies. The only effective way to diagnose food allergy is to do an elimination diet trial. A food trial involves feeding a diet with ingredients completely different from anything the dog has eaten before (dog food, treats, table food, etc). The best foods for an elimination trial are prescription diets available from a veterinarian. If itching stops after 8+ weeks on only the new food, other commercially-available foods can be added one at a time to see what your dog tolerates. Your veterinarian is the best source of information to help solve the complex problem of food allergies.

new teeth until around 30 months. Once a tooth is visible in the mouth, daily hygiene by a parent is necessary. All teeth are susceptible to decay and disease, even baby teeth. The two greatest risk factors are a sugary or high carb diet and lack of daily brushing. Infant’s teeth can be cleaned daily by using a wet wash-cloth or “thimble brush” to gently wipe off plaque. By age 2, a toddler-sized soft bristle toothbrush should be used with a thin smear of fluoride toothpaste. By age 5, use just a rice-sized amount of paste on the brush and always encourage your child to spit out all paste after Dr. James Sands, DDS brushing. Remember that children cannot reliably brush teeth themselves until 6-8 years of age and even then need to be closely supervised. Parents should plan on doing follow up brushing until age 7-8. Children are notorious for believing that tasting toothpaste is just as good as brushing. The most commonly missed spot in the mouth for brushing is along the gum line. Every child should see the dentist by age 1 for an exam and decay risk assessment. This is a recent recommendation due to increased decay in children under 5. Inquire if your dentist is comfortable seeing young children. Children are fun and unique and should be treated that way. Good Luck!.

hazardous conditions as you head to the pool. First, let’s consider the chemicals used in pools. Pool users of both private and public pools are exposed to chemicals like chlorine and bromine, which are added to the water to kill bacteria and germs. The pool should be tested regularly for the chemical content and treated to maintain the correct balance. Incorrect balances can result in pool users experiencing symptoms like fainting, nausea, headaches, eye issues, and lung problems. These issues can occur from too much chemical contact, or Attorney from exposure to bacteria and germs, if too little chemical content. Ensure that the pool you Gail Groy use is regularly tested and balanced to ensure your safe use. Another hazardous condition of swimming pools, would be puddles of water on the side of the swimming pools. These puddles may be slippery and could cause a slip and fall. Be vigilant of such standing puddles of water and avoid them. Finally, overcrowded swimming pools could mean that the lifeguard may or may not see you or your family in a drowning situation. This means be attentive with all the members of your swimming group and to all around you, whether crowded pool or not, keep a good lookout. Be aware of the dangers and take steps to protect yourself and your family!

Q. Should I sell my home FSBO (For Sale By Owner)? A. In a solid Seller’s market, some sellers think, “every property is selling, I should just save the commissions and sell on

my own. How hard could it be?” The truth is, your home will probably sell eventually if you do it yourself, but your outcome will probably be better if you have an agent on your side. Multiple studies show that homes listed by real estate agents sell for significantly more than homes sold by owners. The primary reason for this is exposure, agents have systems in place to market for maximum exposure. This gets more buyers through your house and ultimately helps sell your home for a higher price. Often FSBOs end up selling to a buyer with an agent and the seller ends up paying that buyer’s agent anyway. Selling FSBO you’ll find yourself sorting through piles of paperwork, answering phone calls and emails, and scheduling showings. Keith & Kinsey Schulz An agent will save you the time and stress by handling the bulk of this for you. Lastly, when selling on your own, you will find yourself negotiating with buyer’s agents, appraisers, and inspectors. An agent will know strategies for pricing and Real Estate Team negotiations that will help you achieve better results. If you are a great marketing and sales person willing to put in the time and effort, you might want to try it on your own. However, I’ve seen many people spend lots of time and money advertising a house on their own, only to turn to an agent in the end. After all, most agents are free (spending their own marketing dollars) if the house doesn’t sell. Most agent’s only get paid if they succeed at what you hired them to do.

Q. I’ve seen Stellar’s employees at a local assisted living facility. Do you work A. Stellar Rehab has an established therapy agreement with many Assisted Living Facilities (ALF), Community-Based Residential Facilities (CBRF), and Memory Care (MC) centers in Dane county. Stellar Rehab offers on-site services to the residents in their homes with the goal of providing preventative and rehabilitative PT, OT, and SLP services. banned on January 1, 2020. So any problem might render your unit unrepairable. The Bryant evolution series air conditioners use Puron refrigerant, a more environmentally sound choice. These units are more efficient, quieter operating, and provide better dehumidification for added comfort.
Q. Are there jobs available to care for people in their homes? A. The need for personal care workers will rise by over 50 percent through 2018, according to the Bureau
Stephen Rudolph FACHE, CSA
of Labor Statistics, due to the rapid growth in the 65+ population and the growing desire of elders to continue living in the comfort of home for as long as possible. Personal care workers help elders safely and happily maintain an independent in-home lifestyle by assisting them with the activities of daily living. Home health care aides provide elders companionship as they perform light housekeeping and routine personal care duties. Their services vary according to each client’s specific needs. They help clients get out of bed, bathe, dress, and groom, clean clients’ houses, launder clothes, change bed linens, plan and cook meals, and make sure elders stay on diets prescribed for health maintenance. Home health care providers also partner with elders’ families to provide elders the care they need. Home health care aides can be scheduled to visit from just a few hours a week or many more depending on the needs of the elder. As more elders and their families embrace this kind of care, opportunities for home health care jobs will continue to grow. Contact Comfort Keepers, the premier home care agency in the greater Dane County area at 218-4861 if you may be interested in a caregiver position with us.

Q. My 5 year old is terrified of thunder and lightning and
can’t sleep during a storm if he has to stay in his own room. Is it wrong to let him sleep in our room during storms? A. Many children find night storms scary, at least for a period in their lives. After a while, most children become more comfortable and understand that they are safe in their own rooms. A bit of a compromise may be your answer. Parents often find it helpful to keep a child’s sleeping bag easily accessible and make the rule that if a child wakes up when it’s storming they are allowed to bring it into the parents’ bedroom and sleep on the floor next to the bed. It’s a simple solution that allows everyone to get a better night’s sleep!
