An FAA license is legally required to fly a drone or you could face a severe fine. Drone operation is a growing profession with opportunities that include photography and videography, real estate and construction, engineering, civil/government, aerial surveying, agriculture, disaster relief, and search and rescue along with aerial inspections. This course prepares you to take the FAA certification written exam (additional cost). Owning a drone not required. Scholarships available. Basic Forklift Operation Skills Provides training to keep you in compliance with OSHA’s forklift safety standard, 1910.178. The program gives details on the powered industrial truck, from the way it’s constructed to the way it operates. It will help you better understand the factors that affect forklift balance and maneuverability. This training meets both the classroom instruction and driving requirements, making safety the top priority. Participants will receive a certificate of completion to present to current or potential employers. Must be 18 years old, must dress for outdoor forklift work, long pants, closed-toe shoes. Strength & Conditioning for Law Enforcement This strength and conditioning class is designed by a Tactical Conditioning Specialist, Elite Personal Trainer & Nutritionist, to prepare you to pass the pre-employment power tests to pursue a career as a Police Officer. We meet three times a week, MON, WED, and FRI for eight weeks. Students will work on conditioning training to improve upper body, lower body and core strength, cardiovascular and flexibility. Proper Nutrition will also be covered. Although designed for those pursuing a career in Law Enforcement, this class will be open to anyone at any fitness level. Scholarships available. WORKPLACE TRAINING (cont) Certified Manufacturing Associate Training The Certified Manufacturing Associate Training program is a 72-hour training program that will prepare individuals who currently possess strong work ethic but may not have the technical skills needed to “get their foot in the door” in the local manufacturing environment. This training will prepare individuals to test and become SME Certified Manufacturing Associates and demonstrate an understating of applied mathematics, measurements, hand tools, safety, quality, lean manufacturing, inspection, fasteners, CNC, additive manufacturing, and problem-solving skills. Reasonable Suspicion for Supervisors This course addresses alcohol and drug abuse at the workplace, focusing on a variety of controlled substances including marijuana, opiates, MDMA, PCP, and cocaine. Upon completion of the course, students in a supervisory role will be able to (1) identify the signs and symptoms of alcohol and/or drug abuse and (2) outline a supervisor's responsibility and actions once he/she has established reasonable suspicion. WORKPLACE TRAINING (cont) Lockout/Tagout Trainer Course Covers the servicing and maintenance of machines and equipment in the unexpected energization or startup of the machines or equipment, or the release of stored energy, could cause injury to workers. Topics include general requirements for the control of hazardous energy, energy control procedure, and lockout and tagout procedures and devices. Upon completion, students will know how to prevent injuries by controlling hazardous energy and be able to identify the requirements and procedures for locking and tagging out machines and equipment. OSHA 30-hour General Industry Outreach In this course, training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention, are provided with general awareness about recognizing and preventing hazards commonly found in the workplace. The target audience is workers with some safety responsibility. Thirty hours of mandatory and other safety topics are covered. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will receive a 30hour General Industry card from the US Department of Labor OSHA. (32 hours) Scholarships available. OSHA 1027-01 / $550.00 Thursday & Friday, March 10, 11, 17, 18 8:00 AM-4:30 PM DeBose, S / TBD EMR 100 This course prepares the entry-level emergency medical provider for employment or a volunteer position in a variety of nontransporting prehospital, industrial, and first responder settings. Students will be trained to provide prehospital assessment and care for patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries. This course follows the National EMS Education Standards as approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
