Ikea looking to expand

Richmond Ikea is looking to expand its store on Jacombs Road by 50 per cent.

The city has received a development application from Ikea to expand its e-commerce, parcel, home delivery and other “click and collect” services

The proposal is to expand the building on the south side, adding a two-storey

15,800-square-metre extension, a city spokesperson confirmed. This is about 170,000 square feet the current building is about 334,000 square feet

An Ikea spokesperson said the store wants to become more “accessible, affordable and sustainable ”

Massive ice show at Minoru

Richmond’s very own Stars On Ice arrives this weekend with around 300 skaters preparing to wow audiences over two shows Richmond’s Connaught Skating Club has been busy over the last few months preparing Earth to Sky, which hits the ice at Minoru Arena on Saturday.

Just about every skater at the club will be involved in the light and music-filled show, from little kids to high-performance, national and international athletes

As the title suggests, the performance will have two acts, one celebrating the sky, moon and sun and one embracing the water, the rivers and the land

Tickets, priced $15, are available from the club’s website Connaughtsc com
