Welcome What a privilege it is to provide holidays that really can change lives and are a blessing to so many! Last winter, we welcomed guests from a family spanning three generations, skiers from six weeks old to eighty-eight years young and guests who first came as solo travellers and now return each year as friends. It is such a joy to read all the thanks and loving support we receive from these guests who cherish truly wonderful memories with Richmond. Your experience with Richmond is far more than just a great holiday, it’s an opportunity: a place for relationships to be invested in, nurtured and, in many cases, begin. Enjoy chairlift-chats with new friends, evening strolls with loved ones, friendly competition on the ski slopes or times of praise during ministry. This ski season, we return to the much loved Chalet Elise and our popular, newly refurbished Chalet des Neiges. We are also pleased to introduce a new ski resort for two weeks in Austria and the yacht trips will continue, this year exploring the Canary Islands. Ministry God is at the centre of Richmond and ministry is an integral part of all of our holidays. Each day there is an opportunity to pause, meet together and enjoy a time of worship and Bible-based teaching led by our Ministry Leader. It is our prayer that everybody feels enriched and encouraged in their Christian walk during their holiday with Richmond and returns home feeling refreshed. During the main school holidays, children aged between 6-12 years can enjoy their own time of ministry, led by members of Richmond’s enthusiastic team. It is a chance to encourage your children and help them to grow in their faith, learn more about Jesus and explore the Bible.

Chalet des Neiges, Reberty Chalet Des Neiges, Reberty Village, Three Valleys Resort – France 10th December 2016 to 23th April 2017
Our 36-bed chalet in the charming Reberty village is situated perfectly beside a blue piste and opposite an ESF ski school. With fantastic views from both the dining room and lounge, you can look out across the French mountains and watch the sunrise whilst enjoying a hearty breakfast. In the evening, watch the piste bashers grooming the slopes from under the stars with a glass of Merlot. New for this year, Chalet des Neiges has seen refurbishment of all of its en-suite bathrooms. The number of bedrooms has decreased, improving the amount of space in many of the rooms. Choose from a variety of bedrooms including twin, triple and quad options. Two of our twin rooms have a jacuzzi bath for that special treat whilst away!

Chalet des Neiges offers plenty of places to unwind, from the indoor and outdoor bubbling hot tubs, to the steamy sauna or the crackling fire surrounded by comfortable sofas – ideal for warming up cold feet after a day out in the snow! Our lounge, where you can enjoy tea, coffee and other cold drinks from the bar all day, also provides a great location for our time of ministry and the optional evening entertainment led by the Richmond team, which includes the famous Richmond Quiz each week!

Chalet Elise, Le Bettaix Chalet Elise, Le Bettaix, Three Valleys Resort – France 17th December 2016 to 23rd April 2017
Chalet Elise is a warm and welcoming alpine chalet that boasts everything you would expect from an amazing ski holiday! This includes two saunas and two outdoor hot tubs on the terrace, where you can relax with a vin chaud after a day enjoying the mountains. Situated close to the ‘Le Bettex’ chairlift, the chalet has easy access to the largest ski area in the world – The Three Valleys. A ski area with over 600km of groomed piste, there is skiing for all abilities – from novice to advanced – and access to great off-piste.
Best ski holiday yet with Richmond. The food was excellent and staff worked hard to provide a lovely holiday. We liked the layout and the hot tubs were great and in a good position. All of the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and are serviced daily by our friendly staff team. You can choose between twin, double, triple and family room options on the three different floors of the chalet. Surrounded by the impressive mountains, there is a large south-west facing balcony that spans the width of the chalet and looks out onto beautiful snowy scenery. Enjoy the tranquillity of Le Bettaix village where Chalet Elise is situated. After dinner, you can take a stroll along the ‘Doron de Belleville’ river which runs through the village. During the day, you can follow the valley and walk to the local, typically French village of St Martin, where you will find many great restaurants for lunch.

Cuisine Throughout your holiday there will be plenty of delicious food to enjoy. Start each day with a tasty breakfast, including fresh, crusty French bread, a flaky croissant or pain au chocolat and cooked options to order. Following a day on the slopes, relax on the sofas beside the roaring fire with a cup of tea and well-deserved homemade cake! The evening meal follows our time of ministry. Starting with drinks and canapés, enjoy a wonderful 3-course meal, paired with complimentary red and white wine or fruit juice, whilst you share stories of your day.
Kids’ Work & Supervision Throughout the season we can provide your children with an earlier dinner and then entertain them while you enjoy your own evening meal. Additionally, for those aged 4-12, old enough to ski but lacking the stamina to keep going all day, we offer a child supervision service. Your children are taken to and from ESF ski school and given lunch; they then join in exciting activities led by the Richmond staff until 14:00. This service is payable in resort at 25€ per day or 110€ for 5 days.

About the Resort If you enjoy winter sports, the world-renowed Three Valleys is the perfect choice for you! It is the largest ski area in the world with just under 300 pistes connected by over 180 modern and fast lifts across the Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens valleys. With skiing available at over 3,000m, snow-sure slopes are guaranteed throughout the season. So whatever your ability on skis or a snowboard, there are plenty of piste options. How about trying The Three Valleys Challenge and visit 18 check points in one day?
Non-skier Activities Aside from downhill skiing, there are a number of snowshoeing and cross-country skiing routes that can be reached from either of the chalets. Also, near Chalet des Neiges, there are buses that can take you into Les Menuires where you can grab a bite to eat and buy some souvenirs, or further afield to the picturesque village of St Martin de Belleville. Alternatively, you may choose to simply relax on the sunny balcony or sink into the bubbling hot tub and look out onto the glorious mountains. Tea and coffee are available throughout the day in the lounge, where you can unwind on the comfy sofas with a great book.

Ski extras Lift Passes Avoid queues in resort; add a Three Valley lift pass to your booking before departure so that it will be waiting for you on arrival. There are reduced rates available for children under 12, seniors (65+) and families.
Equipment Hire Ski and snowboard hire can be organised through Richmond. With four grades of equipment, we can ensure you have the right kit and can advise if needed. We take your measurements in advance to ensure less time in the ski shop and more time on the slopes!
Ski and Snowboards Lessons Richmond can organise 6-day group lessons at your required level with the ESF ski school starting from age three. We recommend you book early, especially in high-season weeks, to avoid disappointment. All ski extras must be added onto bookings a minimum of three weeks before departure. Full details of ski and snowboard hire are available on our website and the prices for 2016-17 ski extras will be available online from 1st September.

Getting There Eurostar Train* Board the train at Ashford or St Pancras then travel directly to Moutiers. Travel overnight for eight full days’ skiing, or catch the daytime service for a great view of the French countryside. The Richmond transfer from Moutiers is £45 return per person and includes a complimentary breakfast for the early morning arrivals.
Flights* Chambery Airport is the closest to our French resorts and Richmond operates return transfers available exclusively to our guests for £70 per person. There are also numerous flights from the UK to Lyon, Geneva and Grenoble airports, all of which are served well by a range of public and private transfer operators. Richmond return transfers from Les Menuires coach station to Reberty or Le Bettaix are £10 per person.
Self-drive On arriving in France it is approximately a 600-mile, nine-hour drive to our chalets. There is underground parking at Chalet des Neiges and free parking in Reberty Village and Le Bettaix. Canary Islands Following the success of our Antigua trip last year, we are running another yacht sailing holiday aboard ‘Ocean Venture’, a 60ft schooner. This time we will be sailing around Lanzarote, one of the larger Canary Islands, renowned for the volcanic landscape, quiet anchorages, beautiful white sand beaches and fascinating architecture. Throughout the holiday, there will be plenty of ways to get involved with the sailing; you will have the opportunity to pull in the ropes, hoist the sails and have a go at helming (under the captain’s watchful eye!) During the 7-nights on board there will be a mix of eating on the boat and at restaurants onshore. This hands-on holiday is suitable for any sailing ability – including complete novice – and as part of the ship’s crew, it will require a certain amount of participation from everybody! In addition to sailing around the stunning coast of Lanzarote, there will be an optional trip to explore the active volcano, ‘Fire Mountain’, and to sail to the nearby Graciosa Island with its sandy volcanic coastline.

Austria We are excited to introduce two 7-night holidays this winter at the Club Hotel Edelweiss. This 55-bed hotel is situated in the typically Austrian village of Itter, which is part of the SkiWelt resort, found in the Tyrol mountains. SkiWelt connects nine ski areas together; with over 280km of pistes, it is the largest interconnected skiing area in Austria. The classic alpine hotel has a variety of spacious rooming options including twin, double, triple and quad rooms plus one apartment that is made up of two bedrooms and its own kitchen/lounge area. Club Hotel Edelweiss is lovingly run by an English couple who, after spending the last eleven years in the area, can suggest ski routes to suit all abilities. In addition, they will also be running ski guiding twice a week around the SkiWelt resort. Enjoy a hearty buffet breakfast in the morning and then a four-course evening meal at the hotel restaurant. After a day on the slopes, spend some time in the sauna to soothe your aching muscles or play a game of pool and enjoy a drink from the bar!
