Our kids, our future W
elcome to the class of 2030! As these irresistible kids embark on their school journey with hope and excitement, take a look at the next generation who will make their mark on our communities, the nation and the
world. This is a magical time to be cherished — and that’s what the K-Kids commemorative section is all about. Enjoy the faces and the enthusiasm of your children as they start their school years. These are photos to look back and reflect on for years to come — and share with these kindergarteners when they reach adulthood! The Herald extends a hearty thank you to the Merrick Union Free School District acknowlfor its enthusiastic support and extensive assistance with the project. We wish to acknowl princiedge Dr. Dominick Palma, Superintendent; Kerri Galante, Birch Elementary School princi pal; Dana Bermas, Chatterton Elementary School principal; Libby Trencheny, Levy Lakeside School principal; and, of course, all of the wonderful teachers and staff who helped us out. With much excitement, the Herald celebrates this year’s Kindergarten class and introduces everyone to these delightful children.

LOOKING FOR A GREAT ACTIVITY
FOR YOUR CHILD? The Nassau County Police Activity League, Merrick Unit, provides organized sports, crafts and other activities for the youth of our community. Our goal is the development of good citizenship through positive interaction between youth and police officers. Our unit holds a variety of programs for the children of our community. We hope every child in our community participates in one or more of our programs. We also ask that you consider volunteering your time to our children and help make our community a better, safer and more enjoyable place to live, work and play. To learn more about our programs or to find out how you can volunteer, click through the website and see what we have to offer.
