Teaching Memories I have so many wonderful memories from my 30 years at Riverside School! I have taught 2nd and 4th grade over the years and for the past 5 years have been the STELLAR teacher. I take great pride in picking a “tool” to help me teach a concept. It just warms my heart when I bump into parents of a former graduate who thank me for teaching their child how to write and they say, “He will never forget when you showed him the baseball bat and taught him how to write home-run sentences”!! I will also never forget coming in one morning when teaching 4th grade and two crayfish had escaped from the tank and were trying to escape down the hallway!!! Many of my favorite memories involve the drama club. I have directed 29 full length productions over the years. I love helping the children explore and discover talents they never knew they had and encourage them to continue using these talents in middle school and high school! It gives me such joy to watch my former Riverside stars perform in productions in the middle school and high school. I simply love books, so working in the library these past years has been a pleasure! Helping a child find a book and working with my colleagues and finding just the right book to teach with or read is a true privilege!
