Excellence In Landscape Awards Project

The homeowners had a few distinctive
design ideas they wanted in the design. One was a fire table set on large paving pads with exposed joints with turf or decorative gravel. The second was that the overall look should have a strong emphasis on linear lines without a lot of fussy design details. So, the design team started the process with multiple concepts addressing pool location and layout, focusing on the ratio of impervious space to planting/lawn space as well as how plant material could be used to define and separate the outdoor rooms. All of which kept in mind that the transition from each area would use long linear step treads. From the conceptual stage to the final plan the design team correlated with the architect, builder, and pool contractor to review drainage issues that need to be addressed in their scope of work.
