Message from the Director This musical is certainly light, frothy and to some extent, as sweet and pink as candy floss. It’s a very tongue in cheek, satirical presentation, but it still has a message to send regarding social stereotypes, love and perseverance. Elle’s exterior would have all of us thinking she is the stereotypical “dumb blonde” that we see portrayed in popular movies. Her concerns appear to be superficial (how she looks and what she wears) but early on we get a glimpse that her fashionista persona is actually incredibly well informed. She is extremely knowledgeable about manufacturing, production and marketing of clothing. This stereotype continues to be dispelled as Elle enters one of the most prestigious and difficult law schools and not only survives, but thrives. There is much more going on underneath all that blonde hair. In many ways, Elle can be considered a feminist heroine, albeit an unlikely one. Her ultrafeminine, ultra-pink exterior and her early willingness to have her life revolve around a man, belays what we come to expect from a feminist, but are we once again stereotyping? Elle’s perseverance definitely reveals that we should not judge a book by its cover. She is a strong, independent, intelligent…and yes, pink force to be reckoned with. Enjoy the show! Michael MacLennan, Director
Message from the President Welcome to Drury Lane! As we are opening on another wonderful season. Let us all thank our wonderful directorial team of Michael MacLennan and Anne Barnshaw. We also like to welcome Laurie who has been assisting with the choreography as you will see there are plenty of steps these actors had to learn. I want to thank everyone who worked hard on getting our new bar and front of house this summer and fall. I am sure you will all enjoy the new bar area and for some the new accessible washroom upstairs. If you haven’t done so please come and check out our new bar area and enjoy a beverage or two. Also please talk with one of our many volunteers if you would like to upgrade your ticket into a seasons package, this is available until the opening of Music Hall. Please sit back, sing along, relax and be entertained. Enjoy the show! Joanne Warren, President

I look forward to dazzling you all with my top notch head tilt and fancy walk! Can’t wait to see you all in the audience!
