40th Annual Drury Lane Music Hall

Message from the President Welcome to Drury Lane! As we are opening on our 40th Anniversary Music Hall let us thank our wonderful directorial team Caroline Clarke, Shelley Rennick and Donna Dunn-Albert. Also, we welcome back after some absence our co-producing team Michelle and Al Skinner. These 5 people as well as many backstage hands and onstage actors have put together a wonderful show for you all. I am sure if you are a “regular” Music Hall goer that you will see some familiarity with a new twist or spin on the original, and if this is your first time know you are in for a great show. As you may have noticed we now have a new front of house behind you. All set up with a new technical booth, a new bar and streamlined service designed to make your experience more enjoyable. We also now have a fully accessible washroom on the main level, for our patrons in need before the show and during intermission. Please sit back, relax and let us hear you clap, boo, hiss and stomp your feet (Especially for our Mr. Chairman). Enjoy the show! Joanne Warren, President Drury Lane

Message from the Directors We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 40th Annual Music Hall!!! Music Hall is such an integral part of the Drury Lane tradition and we couldn’t feel more privileged to be directing and choreographing again this year, especially being the 40th Anniversary celebration! It takes a great team to put together a show like this one and we have been lucky enough to have just that….a great team! They have given us their time and talents and for that, we are truly grateful! Not to mention our awesome cast!!! What can we say? Thank you for making this another great experience for us. We are so proud of all of you and continue to be blown away by your talents. We hope that their hard work, coupled with the joy we’ve experienced in the process of putting this show together, translates to you… the audience…and will leave you feeling elated that you decided to come and see the show! Clap wildly, laugh loudly, and stand while applauding in appreciation for our fabulous cast and crew. We are glad you decided to join us and help celebrate the 40th Annual Music Hall. We hope you enjoy the show and thank you for your support! Shelley Rennick & Caroline Clarke, Co-Directors & Co-Choreographers

Caroline Clarke, Co-Director & Choreographer

Caroline started highland dancing at the age of 4. As a competitive highland dancer, she has won competitions and championships throughout Canada and the US. After competitions she enjoyed doing shows with The Scottish Dance Company of Canada. She completed her associate teachers exam with the British Association of teachers of dancing (BATD) and has been teaching at Aspects of Dance in Burlington for the last 8 years where she was once a student. Caroline has been involved with Drury Lane for 22 years starting out in the pantomimes Sleeping Beauty and Jack and the Bean Stalk and most recently, Cinderella and Snow White. Caroline is very excited to be involved with Drury Lane’s 40th Annual Music Hall. She has enjoyed sharing her love of theatre and comedy with the cast this year!! It has been a pleasure to work with this cast and crew.

Shelley Rennick, Co-Director & Choreographer

Shelley Rennick has been involved in theatre and dance for many years! Her dance education started at the age of four and she was bitten by the theatre bug in Elementary school. She studied Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Modern and Musical theatre for 15 plus years and has been a successful competitive dance teacher for over 25 years. She has taught and choreographed for studios in Toronto and the surrounding area. Her choreography achievements include “Most Entertaining”, “Adjudicator’s Choice”, and overall production awards. Studying drama and attending Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto led her to become involved with many theatres and production companies. She is happy to be a part of the 40th Annual Music Hall and hopes her passion, combined with the talents and dedication of the fabulous cast and crew, leaves the audience cheering!

Donna Dunn-Albert, Musical Director

Donna started her theatre career as a rehearsal pianist at the Red Mill Dinner Theatre in 1977. Michelle & Al Skinner, Co-Producers

Michelle and Al are thrilled to be producing again at Drury Lane. We love working together with our stellar creative team, watching the composite parts create an amazing production. We also love contributing to that creative buzz by designing the sets and getting our hands dirty splashing paint on the walls. We are grateful for our children (Hadley, Brighton, Nicole, James and Mark) supporting and even helping (thank you Nicole with panto!) And we truly appreciate our audience, you make the craziness worthwhile.

John Mattocks, Stage Manager

John is very happy to be returning for his fifth show with Drury Lane. He has been having so much fun stagemanaging Music Hall’s 40th annual production, he is regularly heard up in the booth singing along to all the medleys. The cast and crew have been amazing to work with and have helped to make his job easy. He hopes you all enjoy the show as much as be does. John was thrilled to be the recipient of the Phil Acheson Award and Best Lighting Design in 2019.

Sharron Clerk, Assistant Stage Manager

Drury Lane has become a home away from home for Sharron. She has discovered that her passion lies behind the scenes back stage helping to make the shows’ magic come alive. John Dillon

John began performing at the age of 7 in Dundee, Scotland, following in the footsteps of his singer father. Choirs, school band, musicals and a television appearance ensued before John formed a Melodymaker and Roundhouse winning band with his mate Steve MacDonald. In the mid-70’s John and his new wife, Theresa, moved to Canada to raise a family. Come the early 90’s John was again pulled into music and theatre at Drury Lane where he has performed in numerous shows and over 20 Music Halls. He is delighted to be back this year, and hopes that you, the audience, enjoy the show as much as he does.

Past experience includes: Grease-Danny Zuko, HSC; Godspell-Judas, HTI; Lead Singer Diamond Life, A&M Records; Quasi Hands, Lead Singer, finalist Q107 Homegrown Contest; Concrete Angels, Soundtrack for full length feature film; Guys and Doll’s, Sky Masterson-HSC and Tivoli Theatre; Anything Goes-Billy, HSC; Annie Get Your Gun-Frank Butler, Lighthouse Theatre; How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying-J.B. Cast | The Misses May Farquhar

May is tickled “PINK” to be performing in the 40th Edition of Drury Lane’s Music Hall and to be sharing the stage with so many wonderful friends!!! To her it is not just a bunch of people getting together to put on a show but rather Music Hall to her is “family” who are always there to support both on and off stage. She thanks the AWESOME directors, producers, cast and crew and thanks her friends and family for their support over the years with special thanks to Sue and Jody! She makes special mention of her dear friend Bill Latham who she hopes is watching from above….Sit back, forget your troubles, have a wee dram and enjoy!!!!!

Sheila Flis

I remember my first Music Hall at Drury Lane. My dear friend May and I were singing a duet about frequenting several bars in the English countryside. As the number progressed we appeared more and more inebriated. We got so into our parts that we fell into the side curtain and brought it down on top of us. That was my first experience with the hijinx of Music Hall and although I can’t recall how many years I have performed in MH, I can remember how much fun I have had over the years. I know you will have as much fun here at the 40th Anniversary show as we will have performing it for you. Welcome and “Cheers!!”

Kay Lewis

Kay loved Music Hall so much last year, that she’s back again for her 2nd time of torture; after all, it is the special 40th edition. She’s so proud to be performing with the same lovely Misses and a few new Misters. After giving out tons of business cards and posters, she hopes you’ll all show up for some fun and laughter, with your bananas and cucumbers( for pearlies). And “no looking up my old address”.

12 40th Annual Drury Lane Music Hall

Carrie Mines

Carrie is thrilled to be back for her 19th Music Hall. In addition to being onstage, Carrie is also this year’s compiler! It was such a pleasure for her to scan the archives to pull together the 40th Anniversary show and celebrate the best of Music Hall with this year’s cast and crew of old and new friends!!! Shout out to husband Rob for all his love and support. Oy!

Margaret Moir

Margaret is always tickled pink to be part of Music Hall but, this being the 40th anniversary, makes this production extra special! Working with such a talented group meant rehearsals were so much fun and she hopes you all enjoy the end result. As always, love and thanks go to Frank, family and friends for their support as she juggles life to be part of this terrific show! Sit back and have fun!

Melody Rasmussen

Melody is thrilled to be a part of the 40th edition of Music Hall. She is so excited to be performing with this talented group of friends. Thanks to her wonderful husband, Scott, for all his support and wrangling the kids at home. Thanks to her amazing kids, Henry, Arya and Claire for all their support and encouraging applause. A big thanks to all her family for extra babysitting so she can have all these laughs. Now grab a drink, pull up a seat, but trust me you’re only going to need the edge.
