Follow these 5 tips to maximize your chances of getting top dollar: 1. Curb Appeal - The first thing that buyers will see is the outside of your house. Does the outside

Clean, De-Clutter & Simplify - Do a deep clean to make sure everything looks its best. Keep carpets vacuumed and beds made. Make the rooms look larger by removing clutter and large furniture. TOTAL ACCOUNTS Consumers with more accounts (or more lines of credit) often have higher credit scores because it indicates that more lenders are willing to give them credit. Having a good mix of different types of credit is good for overall credit health as well. But be prudent: Only apply for credit you actually need.
AVERAGE AGE OF OPEN CREDIT LINES The longer your credit history and the older your accounts the better. That’s why it’s a good idea to keep older cards open and active, and to start applying for credit at a young age.
DEROGATORY MARKS Derogatory marks are negative items on your credit report like collections, tax liens or bankruptcy. These records can stay on your credit report for 7 to 10 years. If you have one on your credit report, it can show a lender that you may have mismanaged your credit in the past. The best way to overcome derogatory marks is to start rebuilding healthy credit again. This will gradually weigh in your favor.

Before you begin your home loan application process, determine what you can realistically afford. Take into consideration your credit score, how much debt your currently carry, including student loans and what type of down payment your’re prepared to make.

TV ads and telemarketers will often offer fast, easy home loans, but will not disclose the details. Read the fine print. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

When in doubt, ask for clarification. Discuss how long the loan process will take, how you will communicate and who will service your loan.
