NEW 899 PANIGALE Ducati 899 Panigale marks the beginning of a new era for Ducati Superbikes. The stunning model, intended to provide a new way to access the exclusive world of Ducati Superbikes, is described as a “Supermid” version of the awardwinning 1199 Panigale, designed to provide the thrill of the new generation flagship model with the refined character of an everyday streetbike.
Its brand new Superquadro engine features a revised bore and stroke for a broad power delivery, producing 148hp (109kW) with a torque of 73lb-ft (10.1kgm). The supersmooth power unit continues to be a fully stressed member of the innovative Panigale monocoque construction, achieving both an outstanding power-to-weight ratio and ride-enhancing agility with a dry weight of 169kg (372.5lb). 2014 MODELS NEW BMW Motorrad has unveiled two new 2014 models: the R 1200 RT tourer and the S 1000 R high-performance roadster, based on the class-leading S 1000 RR.
The 2014 BMW R 1200 RT is powered by BMW’s new 125bhp liquid-cooled boxer engine, which was introduced in the award-winning 2013 R 1200 GS. The R 1200 RT offers continent-crossing comfort, dynamic handling and a host of performance and safetyenhancing features as standard, including ASC traction control, ABS and two riding modes. The 2014 BMW S 1000 R highperformance roadster is directly derived from the S 1000 RR. BMW’s revolutionary semiactive suspension (DDC) is available as a factory fit option, the first time it has been offered on a naked model.
ADVENTURE
The new R 1200 gS Adventure is powered by the same spirited engine featured on the R 1200 gS, with a displacement of 1,170 cc and an output of 92 kW (125 hp) at 7,750 rpm.
The stand-out feature of the power unit is the new precision cooling system which uses water instead of oil as a cooling agent. Also new is the engine’s throughflow, which is now vertical for even more efficient power output, as well as the six-speed gearbox. The new R 1200 GS Adventure has a lightweight aluminium 30litre tank and come as standard with ABS, Automatic Stability Control (ASC), as well as the two riding modes ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’.
