• In this context Jodhpur is an outstanding case where tangible and intangible heritage are coupled closely and face a risk of loss due to globalisation.

• In last few decades, Mandore garden has lost its charm and very few tourist flock this place.

SITE CONTEXT

Buildable area - barren land on backside of the Mandore fort ruins. Altitude - 281 m. Gentle Slope - 1:16. Existing temples and palace structures to the east of the site. 2 exisiting pedestrian pathways from Garden.

• Hence, the project with its various public intensive functions aims to revive the fading glory of the historic precinct and generate more tourism.

• The structures are placed such that they radiate outwards from the central core in 3 directions. • The core opens in the east direction towards the ruins to knit the existing heritage to the new campus.

• The structural height is kept in accordance with the existing structures so that the new built mass does not owerpower the existing heritage. • The new campus is designed such that it blends all art forms together

MY ROLE :

My role on the project included designing and detailing out all the

spaces, preparing working drawings, selecting materials and theme for each space and execution for the same.

In order to make the spaces feel larger all the major spaces such as family

living, dining and kitchen all merges

in to one; opening out to a small zen garden with a skylight feature, which is the major source of natural light and ventilation for the house.

Urban-Housing is one of the most vehemently discussed topic in the last

few decades. Today, across the globe, we are experiencing a rise in densely

populated urban areas, along with a lack of land resources to provide sufficient housing.

This phenomenon

has resulted in the growth of informal housing units.

These undesirable conditions in the urban housing scenario have given birth to the idea of

Micro-Housing; an idea

that encourages making innovative

use of limited floor space to its maximum potential for the residents.

MY ROLE :

The design project aims to build a exhibition space to commemorate the memory of creators of the city of chandigarh,

Jeanneret.

Le Corbusier and Pirrre

CONCEPT :

The fuild form of the building breaks the rigid monotonous lines seen in

chandigarh city. The styles of both the masters were used in designing the structures.

Curved form and petal shaped roof distinguishes this structure from the surrounding linear buildings.

The brief given by PMC proposes a public building that reflects youth and their needs.
