Spirituality and Photography Praying through the Lens This day will include: • teaching on the practice and discipline of prayer, rooted in scripture and the Christian tradition; • insights on the relationship between seeing, knowing and praying, particularly through the camera lens; • the opportunity to practise, share and learn from each other – you will need to bring a camera, and ideally the means to download pictures on a computer. Please bring a packed lunch; liquid refreshment will be provided. If it is wet, we may still want to go outdoors, so warm and waterproof clothing is advisable. Places are limited to 15 maximum, so please book early to avoid disappointment. Book online at:

JANE WILLIS is Vicar of the Chittleleigh Group of Parishes in North Devon, and currently studying for an MA in Christian Spirituality at Sarum College. She has recently written on Thomas Merton’s use of photography, and is (almost) never without a camera in her hand. She is also a member of the Simeon Community, an intentional dispersed community of prayer. ADRIAN CHATFIELD is Director of the Simeon Centre for Prayer and the Spiritual Life, prays better on the move than when he’s still, has been a photographer for many years, and only recently discovered that the camera is a wonderful instrument for encountering God.
