@teresakogut I’m a Michigan girl who loves to spend time outdoors. A favorite pastime is going on walks through the woods with my husband and pup, Athena. Our property is surrounded by fields, farmland and wooded areas. We also have many ponds, creeks, a county park and a large river nearby — a perfect invitation for wildlife. I created a cross stitch sampler in 2020 which was the inspiration for this fabric line. My love of nature shines through with the dark earthy colors of the home, hearts and critters making this line warm and inviting.

@ankastreasures I love the colors of fall, and I enjoy bringing those colors inside with my home decor and especially my quilts. The floral prints in this collection are inspired by the flowers from my fall garden, without any of the motifs being specifically fall. The result is a collection that can be used throughout the summer and fall seasons, or anytime you feel like making a quilt in these vibrant colors. The navy sashiko print makes a nice backdrop for these colors, thus the name for the collection, Indigo Garden.

When my son was small, the scene was recreated with me as the teacher and him as the student. While gnomes have been gracing gardens for years, the nordic gnomes with ample beards, round noses, and no faces have become the hot new decorating trend. Traditionally associated with Christmas, they are now making us smile all year long! (These gnomes are basically the Scandinavian version of Santa & visit the homes of children on Christmas Eve.) Gnomes have become one of my favorite art subjects when I want to do something bright and joyful. As I painted the hearts that would wrap around one gnome and be tossed in the air by another like confetti I had a big smile on my face. I’m excited to share the Gnomes in Love with you and hope they bring joy and love to all of your sewing and quilting projects!
