About Nadra Ridgeway Nadra Ridgeway lives in a small village nearby Frankfurt, Germany, together with her partner and their little boy. It all started with a handmade gift for a newborn baby: a little elephant with crackle ears and a rattle in its belly. Gradually, the creation of other toys, cushions and baby blankets built the foundation for a whole collection of her own. During parental leave, Nadra decided to become self-employed and founded her label ellis & higgs. Since then, she produces handmade accessories and textiles for babies and children as well as her own sewing patterns and fabric designs. In early 2014 she made her dream come true by opening her own shop and studio. Here she sells her handcrafted goods, as well as fabrics and sewing notions. Being creative has always given her joy and fulfillment and her hope is, that her work will inspire creativity in others. Pattern Designer Spotlight Pattern Designer Spotlight Serendipity Studio specializes in sewing and stitchery patterns that have a vintage vibe with modern appeal. Each design is skillfully created to provide professional results every time with thorough instructions and expert tips. We know that everyone has their own style and what better way to express that than with custom clothing and accessories? Our patterns include a collection of photographs showcasing multiple variations to help you do just that. Clothing patterns are offered in a range of seven sizes with advice on how to customize them to your unique measurements. Our paper patterns include large tissue sheets for the pattern pieces with the sizes nested so custom sizing among several sizes is easy to do. While most designs are shown sewn up in 100% cotton fabric, we do love to play around with other fabrics such as wool, linen, rayon, cotton voile/lawn, double gauze, knit, and twill to show how versatile the designs can be. We have bag and accessory designs to fit your busy lifestyle. Bag patterns often include more than one size so you can choose what best fits your needs. Because using a rotary cutter, ruler, and mat are the most accurate way to get rectangles, strips, or squares, we do not include pattern pieces for these simple shapes. If any bag has specialized shapes, a large pattern sheet with those pieces are included at full size for easy use. If you love handwork, then our stitchery patterns are a perfect fit. Our embroidery patterns include full size images in a range of sizes ready to be traced and stitched by hand. The instructions not only include stitch illustrations and tips but also steps to convert the designs into applique to be added to clothing or accessories. The stitchery also stands alone well as framed art or other home decor such as a collection of pretty throw pillows. Established in 2001, we have always strived to bring you the most creative and easy to use patterns in the industry. Our goal is for you to love your stitching, have the satisfaction of learning something new after working with our patterns, and feel the pride of creating something beautiful.
