Wedding Photography Advancing with Times

Wedding is a sacred event. It is expected to mark the eternal union of two people loving each other so much that they are willing to commit themselves to each other for the duration of their life. The word marriage has its roots in the Latin word mritari or to get married. In more recent times, the word has come from the French word marier. Regardless of the roots of the word, the institution of marriage is one that has remained sacred throughout centuries, although its definition has changed with the recent social changes in many countries. The “act” or process of getting married has always been associated with certain events, from the bachelor’s party and the bachelorette soiree and the actual wedding ceremony to the wedding party gathering or party afterwards.

One of the most important parts of the wedding is now the wedding photoshoot. As societies have become more affluent in general and advanced with time, the practice of taking pre-wedding pictures, as well as those during the ceremony and at the ensuing party, has gained significant meaning. One country in which the tradition has advanced is South Korea, commonly referred to simply as Korea. While there are no accurate statistics, wedding photography in Korea, has indeed become a booming business. For many couples in Korea, wedding photography is not just an option; it’s a must. In fact, many Korean wedding packages include both tradition Korean pre-wedding photoshoot at one of the many –and increasing-- Korean wedding photo studios. Wedding photography, while not as old as the marriage institution itself, has a history perhaps as long as the history of camera. For many observers of wedding photography, the first images of the sacred ceremony were that of the 1840 wedding of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth and Prince Albert, although the practice of taking such pictures was at the time only limited to the most affluent of the society. Turn the clock some 200 years forward and it becomes almost inconceivable to have a wedding ceremony without the obligatory wedding photography, whether it is in South Korea or anywhere else in the world. South Korea’s Wish & Co. (http://wishandco.kr) is one of the newest professional wedding photography companies offering potential clients a comprehensive list of services that couples need to document perhaps the most important day of their joint life.
