Plan

Grab a roll of 2½" strips and make quick work of this fun and colorful quilt. Use an accurate ¼" seam allowance throughout to ensure all elements of the quilt fi t together well.

Fabric yardage assumes 40" usable width of fabric (WOF) unless otherwise noted. • Assorted prints 42 strips 2½" x WOF for blocks • White solid 23⁄8 yds. for blocks • Blue print ¾ yd. for blocks and binding • Backing 4 yds. • Batting 68" x 78"

Cut

Patches are lettered in order of use. Measurements include ¼" seam allowances. • Assorted prints

cut from each strip:

4 rectangles 2½" x 4½" (A) 5 squares 2½" (B)

NOTE: Set aside 1 B square from each strip for contrasting center square. • White solid 168 rectangles 2½" x 4½" (A) 168 squares 2½" (B) • Blue print 7 strips 2¼" x WOF for binding

Sew

1. Choose 1 matching set of 4 print A rectangles and 4 print B squares.

Join 1 print A, 1 print B, and 1 white B as shown in Diagram I. Make 4 units. Make 42 matching sets of 4 units.

2. Arrange 4 matching units, 4 white A, and 1 contrasting B as shown in Diagram II.

Join into rows; join rows to complete 1 block. Make 42 blocks total.

3. Sew 7 rows of 6 blocks each.

Join rows together. 4. Layer, baste, and quilt. Vicki machine quilted a diamond grid across the quilt surface.

Bind the quilt.
