UNDP Rio+ Centre
The UNDP World Centre for Sustainable Development (RIO+ Centre) was created as a legacy of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) to keep the commitment to sustainable development alive in both action and ideas. Established in June 2013 in Rio de Janeiro as a partnership between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Brazil, the RIO+ Centre is one of the six UNDP global policy centres, working in close collaboration with the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support in New York and the UNDP Country Offices in 166 countries. The RIO+ Centre is a global hub for ideas and action on sustainable development. It provides the Global South and UNDP Country Offices with evidence and analysis to support country-level policy implementation and strengthen citizen engagement in the global debates on development.
