COMMITTEE IMPRESSEDWITH EXPERIENCE

The members of the presidential search committee, according to Jane Runkel Frederick ’74, its chair, were drawn to the nomination of David C. Joyce early on in the process.

Frederick says the committee members were impressed with the fact that Joyce was a sitting president with experience in fund raising, curricular reform, financial concerns, accreditation, trustee recruitment and a proven ability to problem-solve creatively.

Also, “he has a personality that seems to fit well with Ripon’s culture; he has outside interests and isn’t one dimensional which brings life to the presidency and he has ability to problem solve outside the box,” she says.
