FROM MS. ABI

Dear KCC Community,

As Term 1 comes to an end, I want to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable growth and learning our students have experienced over the past few months. At KCC, we are dedicated to nurturing the principles of the IB Learner Profile, encouraging our students to become inquirers, thinkers, communicators, and compassionate global citizens.

One of the most important aspects of the IB framework is helping students take ownership of their learning. When children actively engage with their education, they not only develop essential skills but also build the confidence and mindset of lifelong learners. Setting goals, reflecting on progress, and embracing challenges are all part of this journey, fostering resilience, adaptability, and a sense of purpose that will serve them well both in school and beyond.

Research consistently shows that children learn best when they are active participants in their education, when learning is meaningful, and when they have opportunities to collaborate and apply their knowledge to real-world situations. The McKinsey Global Institute’s report on the future of work highlights the growing importance of critical thinking, creativity, emotional intelligence, and technological skills, all of which are integral to the education we provide at KCC.

As His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum wisely said, “The race for excellence has no finish line.” This commitment to continuous improvement is echoed by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who reminds us that “Education is the key to the future, the key to progress and development of nations.” These inspiring words

motivate us to keep striving to offer the best possible learning experiences for our students.

Throughout Term 1, we have witnessed our students embrace these values. They have tackled challenges with determination, worked collaboratively to solve problems, demonstrated empathy through community service, and pursued their passions with enthusiasm. Their accomplishments are a testament to their hard work and the support of their teachers and families. As we look ahead to the rest of the academic year, I invite you to join us in celebrating your children’s successes and encouraging their continued growth. Together, let’s help them reach new heights, equipped with the values and skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Warm regards,

Ms. Abi
