FUNCTION REPLACEMENT FIRST PLAN 1:500

The independent large space in the middle of the building can used for different functions by alternative arrangement of the plan, that means the waiting hall has a great flexibility in its usage. The bus passenger terminal would increase its publicity, acting the role of city living-room, not only service for the passengers but also the community and public.

CONCEPT

For the interior space, my concept was “Connect. Using the slopes and steps to form a continuous route, linking different functions room from each floor. This route not only become a connection between city and film school but also connection between each individual inside this building. Emphasising a dynamic moving experience inside the building and creating more chances of communications and observations. Mean while the route also present the processes of making a flim.

CITY & LAKE SYMBIOSIS 丨 Scenic Area Planning Design Site: East Lake Scenic Area, Wuhan, Hubei, China Type: Academic Design, Individual work Architecture area: 101000 sqm Site area: 458000 sqm Date: May.2015, 8 weeks, 4th year

SITE LOCATION LAKE DISTRIBUTION IN CHINA Hubei named as "a province with thousands lakes", and east lake in Wuhan is the largest inner city lake in China. For this reason, the development of Wuhan is based on its abundant water resources.

The growth of human activities has already became the threat to water resources, and the relationship between city and lake is extremely strained. This program is aimed at increasing the water area, connecting the living water and retrieving the intimate relation between city and lake.

DEVELOPMENT INTENSITY

CONCEPT IMAGE FOUR PARTS

The program will be divided into four areas, that is A,B,C,D from the northwest to the southeast, discussing the relationship between water & human, water & city, water & country, water & nature respectively. The scale of buildings ranged from small to large, on the contrary the density gradually decreased.

WATER in HUNMAN HABITATION Part A is mainly aimed at reserving the original residential houses and small commodity trading market along the street. Leading a river which go through the area to improve living environment and meet the needs of people daily use. Arousing human’s memories of living in ancient water village town, where water and human have a intimate relationship.

WATER in CITY Part B, the main function for the trade fair. In the planning for New York, we can see that the greening, building and lake are clearly separated. While in this program I want to emphasis the interinfiltration of water and city, and creat a new ecologicalize urban structure.

WATER in COUNTRY Part C is farming culture experience area. Emphasising the role of water in the original production industry such as the irrigation (paddy fields), culture (fish and prawn ).The planning focus on diversifying the farm pattern and creating coherent paths to break the rule and inflexible original grid of farm land.

WATER in NATURE Part D is the expression of the natural features of the water and its relationship with propagation. In this area, the existence of artificial things is weakened, including the architectures. So the form of the building is echoed in the natural mountain as an earth-sheltered architecture, going ups and downs.
