CONCEPT A placemaking with street like feel The concept guiding the design of the building emerges from the inferences from case study, site study and character. The design idea is to amalgamate the hotel, commercial block, banquet, casino in the site with the motive to create a place for the users promoting pedestrian friendly design and social inclusiveness To give the street like feel making people have that sense of belonging to the place, inviting the people through the quality spaces providing to them. This idea is catered in hotel block as well through creation of the courtyard spaces, open terraces and spill out areas to connect to the views, to the inner and outer street and more of a to feel the presence in Durbar Marg. This will be created by the utilization the beautiful views the site offer, design planning that focuses on the lively views created in the design or the outer existing views. MASTER PLAN The master plan shows hotel drop off, lobby, reception area, courtyard, two restaurants and two banquet halls in the hotel block. The commercial zone has separate entry from two sides of road connecting with retail, plaza spaces, food courts, courtyard, restaurants. The banquet halls too are given different entry at the western side of the site. The A circulation is guest circulation core with front office staff lift faced to the staircase. The B circulation is for the banquet and C circulation core for the staff 8

2 RESIDENCE DESIGN YEAR : 2018 LOCATION : Magargaun, Bhaisepati PROJECT TYPE : Residential Design

INTRODUCTION One of the very first project designs in academic journey after bus stop design and this project is the memorable one. The residence design is for the family of a businessman, actress and two children and meets their requirements. Home, the place where we feel home , comfortable, loved and protected but the home spaces , requirements for different people are different. So with the requirements of different spaces as per profession, So this project involves a luxurious bunglow for a family of six members with the exertion of the contour heights and the required spaces as per their profession and family members.

CONCEPT The concept of “Interplay of Rectangular Form” is derived from the site lines and features. The planwise form responses to the site as the commencement of the conceptual ideas is by placing the rectangular planes parallel to contour lines and then interplaying those planes to gain the efficient sunlight, connection and separation of the spaces, and their interconnection as shown in the figures. The southern side lap pool, the south eastern play area, compound area and the placement of the plan to the south corner all responses according to the site, sunlight pattern and wind direction flow. The elevational idea is also derived from the interplay of the planes. 14

PLANWISE -Plan parallel to contour lines -Three rectangular plans depicting public, Semi-public and private space -(Fig i shows the planes in same line where sunrays could penetrate partially) -(Fig ii shows the plans in different line where sunrays could penetrate properly) -(Fig iii shows interconnection between two lines) Elevation wise As shown in fig, one rectangular form parallel to north and another inclined to south direction The form so formed is played in elevation 16

3 PIMBAHAL PUKHU YEAR : 2021 LOCATION : PATAN, LALITPUR PROJECT TYPE : NEIGHBOURHOOD

INTRODUCTION This project proposes the new planned approach for the conservation of pimbahal pukhu : the socio-cultural aspects, by addressing the existing functional, economical and cultural aspects of the site by proposing a new life with existing socio-cultural elements and by addressing today’s way of living with traditional essence. The current settlement structure represents a part of traditional newari settlement but seems gradually moving towards modern house built forms. The settlement pattern shows the random and unplanned growth but the spaces like squares(market square, neighborhood residential squares, private residential squares), pukhu, stupas, pati, temple, these spaces are also included in the settlement pattern. The road networks also carry significant other roles like jatra route, the route to funeral site, route to the western dhoka other than just from transport or access point of view. So a site or a settlement holding such significant traditional, historical and socio-cultural values is proposed in a new planned way but incorporating these deep rooted values. 20

CONCEPT After the study of the existing site scenario we had discussed a aproach to plan the neighborhood conserving the pimbahal pukhu and asked all the members to bring their ideas and in initial zoning and planning my involvement was very intact. The road networks proposed to the site corresponding to the existing one yet the proper straight lines dividing the site in six zones having the main entrance network as north-south axis. The central two zones proposed as the recreational and institutional zone so that the proper access to the area from all the peripheral households leading the residential zones to the remaining outer zones including the open and public spaces, greenery areas and parks.

4 HOUSING YEAR : 2020 LOCATION : BHAISEPATI PROJECT TYPE : HOUSING

INTRODUCTION The site for the project is located in Bhaisepati area having the potential for the housing projects. The site blessed with the scenic view features is almost a plain land the level contours are 500-1000mm . Along the road side is a stream and the existing site has a road through the bridge. Keeping in mind the commercial values of the land near and further from road area, the sun path pattern, the consideration of view features, the zoning of the site, the placement of the housing and apartment units , the division of different categories of housing is done accordingly and reciprocating to those ideas the plan is formed with the provision of required amemities, spaces , for the inhabitants. The plan also goes through a hierarchy and as in the same form the the apartment buildings, its elevational form also reciprocates to that idea. Moreover, the height play in the apartment units is done according to the consideration of the sunlight pattern and sun shadow to the units. 26

The Narasingha (or Narasimha) temple stands in Patan’s Durbar square opposite to Degutale Temple. It was constructed in 1589 to honour the deceased brother of Purandar Singh, a powerful nobleman who controlled the area in the late 16th century. Likely dedicated to Shiva, the temple is cruciform in plan and is oriented along the axis of the main square. The central shrine is built with brick corner pillars framing wooden doors (one on each side) which nominally provide access, though nowadays these are kept permanently closed. Four porches project forward from each side of the shrine, supported by ornately carved stone columns supporting wooden roofs.

34

35

BHASMESHWOR TEMPLE

36

Bhasmeshwor Mahadev temple is Shiva temple located just south of the durbar. This temple has square plan with shiva linga and its lingam's water spout, as usual, pointing North i.e exactly towards the royal residence.Earlier, the temple was built in Shikhara style alike Krishna Temple. In 1934’s earthquake, the temple was completely destroyed and later in Rana regime, due to massive scale of construction and limited time and skilled labour, many original details and configuration of the monuments were sacrificed. Thus temple was remodelled as dome shaped roof.
