Jewelry by Rita Sunderland It was after moving to the United States from Russia in June 2005 to start my own family. My husband encouraged me to start a hobby and business making jewelry, so that I could stay home with our new daughter. It started small and grew as I learned how to market and sell. It started at local farmers markets and sites like ETSY; I was making micro macramÊ jewelry as I had been since I was 5 years old. My husband inspired to be creative and supported my transition into working my skills with precious metals and stones. I married an artist and that has allowed me great freedom. It has also changed how I look at creating works of art, starting with a stone that inspires me; by color, shape, symbol or even magical properties. I have learned to think about shapes enhancing a person’s body and I strive to balance beauty, fashion, function and affordability. My jewelry is small runs or custom work, as of 2011 with the help of friends and family I started RitaSunderland.com.
Jewelry by Rita Sunderland RitaSunderland.com is an independently owned company featuring handcrafted jewelry by Seattle area designer Rita Sunderland. She makes a wide range of jewelry, but her focus is on showing beauty of precious and semiprecious gemstones. She likes to work with rare cut gemstones along with common shapes to combine elements that complement the other stones as well as the future owner. She works mostly with sterling silver and 14K gold filled. With the custom requests she offers jewelry in a solid 14K gold which fluctuates more in price, therefore quotes will be given at the time of purchase. JURIED ART SHOW -
